London is spectacular! I was there for only three days but felt extremely comfortable in this city. I luckily was in town two weeks before the Queen's birthday and was able to witness the practice of the Queen's birthday parade. I had never seen a marching band on horse back before and was immensely impressed. This city is a great first time visit for first timers in Europe. ~Alicia D.~

Agreed 110% times atleast that. (Can you tell I love London? ;o) I was there in March of 07 and was actually able to see the Queen and the whole procession of things because the President of Ghana was visiting. You have to be by Buckingham Palace to be able to see her in her carriage. What I thought was really nice is they have flags tied to the light poles switching between the British and Ghana flag, a nice welcome to the President. This city is just amazing. Perfectly said by Alicia, it is such a comfortable city and the people are so nice, the weather was beautiful, so many parks and places to enjoy the nature outside, still great culture and love for their heritage....I could go on and on. I'm ready to move there! Not a trip that will dissapoint you. Also a book that was EXTREMELY helpful, London for $95 a Day - has an internary for the amount of days you are staying, keeping in certain areas to limit traveling and also has a map of the tube system (which you definitley have to take as a form of transportation, quick and easy and kind of fun - don't forget King's Cross at Platform 9 3/4 if you're a Harrry Potter fan). Although I was there for 4 days - I would say a whole week is great to get everything in with some breathing room too - If you want a great tour guide and company to take you to Stonehenge, Windsor Castle and the Roman Baths (which you HAVE to do!) go through Grayline Tours and make sure you ask for David - hilarious, charming and fully knowledgable old man. Ok enough excitement...Go to London! ;o)
