Tell us about your favorite beaches and why they deserve to be ranked as some of the best.

North Padre Island, Texas. Can't beat all the crowds and seaweed (yeah seaweed, all you want..it's free!). And it get's better. On some parts of the beach you have to pay for a permit to park. Go a bit further south and your at the National Sea shore. When they say "natural" beaches, they arn't talking about nude sunbathing..they mean trash.,tons of TRASH!(It's free too!)
You gotta just love this place!;)

I enjoyed the presentation of best beaches. However, how did the travel channel miss one of the best beaches in the US. The Siesta Key beach located in Sarasota, Florida. The sand is made of a white quartz which never gets hot. The water is always warm, clean and it is a pleasure to swim. It is a great family beach because the water is calm for the children and is one of the safest.
I have been to a number of beaches mentioned in this report and Siesta has them beat in my humble opinion. Notwithstanding my opinion I still enjoyed the beach report. Enjoy the beaches!!

If I had to pick one beach in the U.S., I'd have to say the ones along the Gulf Coast of Florida. Panama is beautiful, but the beach there is much to crowded. Destin Florida has an awesome beach, and it's known as part of the Emerald Coast. It's the home of the World's Best Fishing, and there's plenty to do on and off the beach. Dolphins can be spotted from over the Destin bridge, and tanning on the white sand is easy! Anyone who goes there never gets bored and always has a wonderful time.

Panama City Beach, FL is the greatest! The first beach I saw was Myrtle Beach, SC and it was okay, but I was not completely taken by its beauty. As we drove into PCB, I saw the beaches and azure waters and cried at the sight of it. It is perhaps the most beautiful thing I have ever laid eyes on. It makes you realize just how great GOD is. It is as beautiful as the islands. It is perfect for people of any caliber; families, singles, or couples, because neither me or my boyfriend like to "party" and were both raised religiously and we still had the time of our lives. We will probably never travel to another beach in the Continental U.S. for the purpose of beauty. It is absolutely breathtaking and wonderful from every angle. Can't wait to go again in July!

Going to the beach is not all about baking in the sun. It's about having plenty of things to do when at the beach. MB now has great places to eat, shows to see, more golf than anyone can possibly play, shopping, wide variety of accomodations, and a very good, clean, very wide beach.
Having been to PCB and MB many, many times, PCB would be the best Spring Break beach, but not the better beach experience for most people of all age ranges.

Two moms and 6 teenage girls, age 17 and 18, are heading to Indian Shores, FL for spring break. The girls would like to go to some clubs to dance (but not to drink). Are there any teen clubs in the Tampa, Clearwater area? Or teen nights at any clubs? Thanks!

Brazos2 is right about North Padre Island, ugly and tons of seaweed. But South Padre Island is one of the best beaches I have ever been to! Great beaches, and so much more: visit http://www.sopadre.com/ for info. SPI was voted 3rd best spring break beach! And also recently made it to the top 20 fishing destinations, according to Field and Stream (magazine).

Hard to beat Destin for best beaches. Although it is a bit crowded now with all the development there are still fringe areas that aren't too built up if you know where to go like Seaside. Driving east as you enter Destin from Ft. Walton it is always a thrill to see the beautiful blue-green waters and sugar white sand.

This is my favorite beach. Right off of downtown San Diego. You cross the bridge into a wonderland of laid back relaxed beach atmosphere. Home to the Hotel Del of Some Like It Hot fame. The beaches here are rarely crowded. It was a Travel Channel Top 10 beach and those who go there will see why.

South Padre Island!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The absolute best beach in Texas and one of the best I have ever been to. The beach is clean, the water is typically clear blue/green to sandy (Depending on wave action). This is not a travel destination if all you want to do is go shopping or go to the movies(Stay home!!!). What the island offers is a retreat from everyday life, work, school etc. My wife and I have visited "The Island"(As locals call it) over twenty times and love it. There are plenty of activities such as: Horseback riding on the beach, parasailing, bungee jumping, golf, surfing, wind surfing, Schlitterbahn Water Park, deep sea fishing, dolphin watch cruises, eco- tours, and nightlife. Since South Padre Island is situated at the same lattitude as Miami Beach expect the same great weather.... South Padre Island, Texas' coastal jewel.

I am very suprised that many of you think that Panama City Beach in Florida should be ranked so highly. When all the Spring-Breakers have left the city is dirty and with junky shops lining the main street. I would much prefer Destin, FL, a BEAUTIFUL location with an amazing beach to go with it!

I agree, Panama City is not all that great...at least not if you're looking for a family getaway.
My favorite beach is Gulf Shores, Alabama. Now that's a great family vacation spot! The beaches are beautiful and there are lots of other things to do.

Being a nudist for the last 11 years, my boyfriend and I have traveled the world looking for the best nudist beach. By accident we met a gentleman and fellow American on our last vacation. We asked if he knew of a nudist beach in the area. He informed us that he and a few friends were in the process of negotiating the purchase of a beachfront property that they intended to use for a private nudist community and were planning to sell co-ownership rights to this property.
Curiosity and the thought of co-owning a nudist property on a South Pacific Island beach made us ask if we could see the property. Making us swear that we would never tell anyone where it was located, he agreed to meet us the next morning and hire a boat to take us to the property. When we enquired about the price and he told us $12,500 for a two percent share, my boyfriend and I could only look at each other. The trip to the island by itself was worth our share and more of the boat rental.
Each island beach we passed was more spectacular than the last. On our arrival at the property we could not believe how beautiful, clean and clear the water was. The sand was not the whitest sand we have experienced but never the less it was beautiful. After walking the perimeter of the property and walking along, the long stretch of beach, we had no choice but to experience it in the nude.
Looking at my boyfriend and him looking at me, without saying a word we agreed to become co-owners of this property. We returned to the main island and spoke for 6 hours with our new found friend and make him swear that we would be able buy into the property. During those six hours of conversation, my boyfriend in disbelief confirmed the price at least 6 times. We took our new friend’s email address and phone number and we gave him ours. He told us that within the next week, after he returned home we could read the full information on their web site.
As promised we have never told anyone where this property was located but we have been giving out the web address to our friends as we were permitted to do. We are working hard to spread the word about this property so that we can become a part of it and it becoming what it should be. Check it out yourself. (http://ticaunatural.weebly.com)
