I have been to Keywest Florida various times and have met alot of very nice, laid back local people. All is different down at the tip of the US, the island itself is the coolest, the shrimpers, dock workers, bartenders, entertainer, etc are the greatest very laid back people in the US.
Just watch out for some of the Cuban Shop owners, they can be rude and smart. There are alot of TO DO's on the island, beside the Duval Street Sceen. Many sports adventures, fishing, boating, etc. But do contact the Local Adventure owners, instead of the Chain ones, because their Livelihood depends on the Travelers and they will give you fare prices. Also off seasons and shoulder season is the best for vacation, when rates are lower. |

Dude, got any particulars on the local adventurers? I am headed down w/wife & sons in 3 weeks. Havent been there in 25 yrs. Staying @ the Crown Plaza on Duval. Thinking bout the Dry Tortugas. Flying then driving down from Miami and 3 days in KW and a couple of days @ south beach. Any suggestions?
