I live in Florida and I've been to KW a few times. I'm always amazed how lousy the food is there. I know it's a party town, but even party people like a good meal. I want to say that Antonia's is the ONLY exception!
I'm afraid this is a gross misrepresentation of Key West dining. While Antonia's is certainly one of the finest options in town (although only steps away from Opera, which offers superior Italian cuisine), there are plenty of others which will appeal to even the most critical palate. Be sure to try 915 (which you will instinctively find at 915 Duval St) where you will encounter chef/owner Stuart's delectable tapas. Walk on down to Bahama Village and stop by Blue Heaven where you can enjoy a sirloin/FL lobster surf and turf Benedict for breakfast or a Yellowtail dinner worth dying for. There are dozens of spectacular restaurants to enjoy spread throughout the 6 square miles that is Key West (and even more if you include gems like the Rusty Anchor on Stock Island). So please disregard the original poster who has more than likely based his opinion off of experiences at Fat Tuesday's and Sloppy Joe's.
I would concur that one, less-than-spectacular dining experience in Key West should not influence others who are considering sampling the Conch Republic's cuisine at any one of many fine dining establishments like "The Grand", 915 and Blue Heaven(which were previously mentioned), A&B Lobster House, Cafe Marquesa....so many great ones.
