I saw a commercial for a new show and honestly cannot recall the name of the show. I only recall watching someone trying to eat an enormous steak. Nor can I find the forum for voicing my disgust for shows that show people in the US stuffing massive amounts of food down their throats. So here I am.

There are millions of people around the world who are starving and now, hundreds of thousands of Americans who can barely buy groceries and wait in long lines at understocked food pantries. In light of this and the skyrocketing prevalence of obesity and it's consequences, I think the Travel Channel should rethink the appropriateness of shows that glorify overeating and food waste. Personally, I don't care to watch someone glutting himself on 5 lbs of meat or 2 gallons of chocolate ice cream sundae.

There is a difference between liking good food and eating like a pig. Better to stay with shows display a more appropriate appreciation and respect for the varieties and complexities of cooking and cuisine.
