Who am I? My name is Kim, I’m 24 and I’m married to Matt. He has 3 adopted children, all of different nationalities.

Where? Our trip of a lifetime would just be TOGETHER. Where? Anywhere, as long as we were together. Some of the places we are interested in seeing would maybe be one of the countries of our children’s nationalities such as Japan, Ireland, Italy, or Africa. As long as we were together.

Why us? I think we should be chosen for this trip is because of our separate lives the past several years. First, Matt. 3 years before meeting Matt, his wife passed away of breast cancer. She fought a good fight for 7 years, but unfortunately it got the best of her. Matt always wanted to take a family vacation or 2, but sadly due to the cancer, the whole family had to stay home because Therese was unable to travel and they wanted to stay together. After she passed away came another opportunity to get the kids and himself away from everything. However, it was in the middle of the school year, and he owns a business he had to keep afloat, so a trip of a lifetime was not around the corner.

Then there is me. I’m Kim. My number one PASSION is travel. I spend HOURS online day in and day out researching trips. I am a travel agent without the license. I dream about trips and other places, and just the thought of it excites me. However, in the past 10 years, I have been battling anorexia. I had to seek treatment several times, which put a brake on all my travel dreams. After I left therapy, I fulfilled my dream. I wanted to become a flight attendant to see the world. It was a great experience. I only flew domestically, but just being able to spend every night in a hotel thrilled me. Once again, that dream came to a screeching halt, because just after 4 months into my new career, my mom got sick, and it was my family obligation to come home and take care of her wit h the rest of my family. I was never able to re-enter the aviation industry. Then Matt and I met. It seemed too good to be true. I was finally over the last hump of my eating disorder, and no longer wanted to obsess over myself. I now had 4 other people to care about. We’ve been together for some time now, and both of us have been able to bring such things into each others lives. Matt finally has a partner once again, and I feel as if these children are mine. I love them as my own even though I am taking on a lot by only being 25. I couldn’t feel more fulfilled. The children have that motherly female touch in their lives again, and I have gained a beautiful family, and wonderful husband. We would love to take a trip together, all 5 of us, and celebrate overcoming our many recent life’s obstacles and finally being whole again. Once again, where? Doesn’t matter too much. Anywhere where my family and I can all be together.
