O.K., this is too weird. You'll have to prove to me that, "it doesn't suck". I just sat with my mouth gaping open while watching the trailer, thinking, "WTF??"
This makes me SO happy - I'm so EXCITED about this to come out. Part of the reason I love No Reservations so much is because of Tony's awesome writing wit - that writing talent translated into animation is going to ROCK.
I wish this was going to be longer than 6 episodes. :-D
My first impressions after seeing the initial clips is that I think this is a mediocre idea. When Anthony Bourdain goes into the territory of parody (unless it is self-parody) he often isn't very funny. An example, would be his Bond themed episode when he went to Vietnam. Good footage, lame framing and narration. He's at his best when he is ruthlessly honest and at the same time irreverent like calling Emeril a Ewok. However, this doesn't mean I want Emeril depicted as one in a cartoon. Fortunately, I am a fan of the show and I am an even bigger fan of Bourdain's books so I feel obligated to at least watch an episode or two see what he comes up with.
Oh my god this is the greatest most funny thing I have ever seen. Its about time someone with the wit, sarcasm and wisdom as Mr. Bourdain has finally does something so incredibly awsome as this. I cannot wait to see more.
I'm a fan of Tony's work in "No reservations" but... what can I say? this is the last thing where I'd expect to see Anthony Bourdain's name on. I'm not saying I'm an expert on what he should or not do (or star as a cartoon character, for that matter) but this seems to be something that should not be carried on.
Sure I could tell you "It's AWESOME it's so funny and sarcastic ahaahahaha ROFLMAO!!!" just because I don't want to say no to an idea by my favorite chef, but It would do no good to any of us if I were to patronize you.
Bottom Line: I don't love this idea but keep up the good work; I love watching Tony's show, and occasionally a few interviews of him giving his opinion on the net I really look up to him.
