I have grown up near NYC and recommend some places I just enjoyed this past week. If you're in the city around the 4th of July, I highly recommend taking in the Macy's 4th of July fireworks. In my personal opinion, an experience that rivals their Thanksgiving Day parade.
NYC has much more to offer, but if I kept going, I'd hate to tire your eyes. ~Alicia D.~

I'm planning my first trip ...with my family (husband, 5yr old son, mother-in-law & myself) we have decided we want to see the fireworks in New York. I am starting to 2nd guess meself. Do you have any recommendation about where would be the best place to visit for viewing the fireworks?
