tony, seriously...how have you not visited boston? I know that you feel that you are from New York, despite really being from Jersey (the hell hole i currently reside in) but you were trained, bred, hardened on the shores of the Cape. The Portuguese lit the proverbial fire under your skinny, city, whitebread, overprivelaged ass. Those Portuguese helped raise me on the South Shore. I need to see you throw a little respect back to our city, the walking city, to Beantown. We aren't second class citizens. We started this whole thing (the U.S.), we have great cuisine and no it. There is so much more to Boston than colleges, tourism, and the fucking Tea Party. We are the smartest 8 sq miles on earth, as well as some of the most diverse and hateful. We love to drink and we love to eat...seems like we are right up your alley. Unless the "no frills just real" mythos you personify on T.V. is garbage. There is some real talent here...lots of great chef's like Ken Orringer, Andy Husbands, and and fucking who cares unless you come and find out. So grow a pair and come see what Boston has to offer, or disregard this email and smoke a cigarette while making some esoteric literary comment.
