We are thinking of going back to Paris in 2009. Are most shops, museums open during the week between christmas & new year's? I don't want to overpack - is there usually snowy weather or just damp and chilly? Any info would be appreciated - especially hotel recommendations.
Cheers!

We went to Paris for Christmas a few years ago and had a good time. Wev were able to eat in most bistros and restaurants without any trouble. Museums were open and busy as usual. The weather was a bit snowy at times, but did not stick around too long. It was cold though and we were really glad that we took warm clothes. As for hotels...we have stayed in Hotel de Flurie in 6th arr., but prefer to rent an appt. Go to VRBO.com and look around. We like the 6th arr. best and as close to the Seine as possible. Grocery stores and markets are available and you can cook some meals to save money.Everything is within walking distance and there are lots of restaurants to choose from in this area as well. Cafes are great too.

Does anyone know the name of the website that Samantha Brown suggested to find b&b's or hotels in Paris. All I can remember is that it had the words, blue, roofs, clouds??? in it. This is very vague I know, but I remember that it was a great site?

Please help. I'm trying to plan my honeymoon.
