Wow, what can I say about this gorgeous city? I visited Edinburgh this summer for the first time and it took my breath away. I fell in love with Scotland immediately. The city is nestled around beautiful green mountains and a shimmering blue ocean. My boyfriend and I stayed at a B&B with the lovliest people and we learned so much about Scottish culture, history, and kilts. I highly recommend staying at a B&B when traveling, it really gives your trip a third dimension of really embodying the culture you are visiting in a way that no hotel or hostel can.

During our stay in Edinburgh we took a tour of Edinburgh Castle which was fascinating and affords some of the most breathtaking views of the ocean and city. We also took a tour of underground Edinburgh through Mary King's Close. I highly recommend this tour as it offers you insight into how people lived in the 18th and 19th centuries. It is dark and cold down there so maybe not the best idea if you are claustrophobic. We also did a poltergeist tour of the Mackenzie Poltergeist with City of the Dead Tours. I had read the book The Ghost that Haunted Itself and couldnt wait to go on the tour. I didn't see or feel anything but my 35 mm Cannon stopped working at the cemetary gates and started working after I lef the cemetary. Creepy. All in all, I cannot wait to go back to Scotland and visit the Highlands.
