I'm a college student and my first trip out of the US, will be to Paris, France in March of 2010.

I wanted to know if any of you experienced travelers had any advice on things I should know before I go. Any advice on customs, appropriate dress/attire, must sees, etc

Thanks!

As a college student myself, I should be able to give you a good perspective. DO NOT WEAR UGGS OR HOODIES. Stick with classic chic clothing like trenches and chucks. Initiate conversation in French and they respond in English.

If you want to go out in a French area with younger people go to Metro Paramentier on the 3. Bastille is fabulous too but its rreally crowded and touristy.

If you can only go to one bar go to Showcase under the Pont Alexandre but dress up! If you want a more laid back atmosphere go to Rue Mouftard at Jussieu metro. Hope that helps!
