Does anyone know how to make the "monkey towel" that the woman taught Samantha on her Freedom of the Seas show? My grandson, Justin, was nicknamed "Monkey" by his Dad and I'd love to be able to make this towel when he stays with us. I tried to do it immediately after I saw it done but failed miserably!

David, what we do without you? If there's anything anybody needs to know about anything, you're the guy to go to. The world needs more people like you. I'm glad you're on this forum. We should call you Dex.

I heartily agree! That particular talent can come in very handly. On our last cruise, we got a bunny rabbit in our cabin, complete with sunglasses!

Samantha has inspired people to try many new things, but I think your story will make her smile, grannie annie. An actual visual demonstration would work best for my learning style, but if you really want to work at acquiring this unusual and whimsical skill, there are books: Towel Folding 101 by Deanna Campbell The Lost Art of Towel Origami by Alison Jenkins How to Make a Towel Monkey and Other Cruise Ship Favorites, by Carol Mulanax. All are available on Amazon.com.
Davidschneidman, you should try those directions on that wikihow you found. This could become a new hobby for us if we get hooked on it.

Ah motherorange, I do wish I had time enough to play with such things as towel monkeys. As it is, I barely have time to do the little bit of reading and writing that I do here. Do let me know if those directions work.
