Samantha Brown, I "follow you," through many of your trips and each time I watch your show I must admit...I pleasantly envy you and your job!!!! How'd you land the PERFECT JOB?? Really just a brief overview would suffice; I'm truly interested, as I imagine so is the rest of the world!!!! I am a Hair Stylist and owner of my salon...which allows me frequent vacations as my "boss," is so generous! (ha ha) But you've been to many places I've not made it to as of yet! Right now, I'm venturing my way through the Caribbean...and am loving every moment! It is definetly my first choice to vacation! I've briefly been to Europe but not enough, I'm saving that for after I finish discovering every nook and cranny of the Caribbean! Sorry, I went off on that tangent. My main subject is your job! Pleasantly jealous!!!!

Hello Samantha,
I posted this question a few months back. I realize you're busy with work and of course your personal life; however I was wondering if you might find time to respond? I don't mean to seem "pressing," but am just so happy for you and your job, as well as fascinated as to your reply. So thanks in advance for your reply!! Keep up the good work! Happy travels!

Hey travelgirl56, I was just wondering if you had gotten a response yet reguarding your question about how samantha got to where she is today? I am going to be going to college shortly as a major in hospitality and I really am hoping to land a job like samantha, I too would love to know what steps shes taken to be able to do what she does- so if you ever get an answer could you also tell me...I am so curious as well. Smile

I also hope you will hear from Sam, first hand.
But for now, I can tell you some things.
Sam wasn't all out to be a travel host, or not anything in the travel business. This was just luck. She was a theater major. She sings, plays the flute(like me!) and is an actress. She was in a TV ad about windows, and someone from the Travel Channel saw her. Now that's history, and now she's a big name as a travel host. There are so many people wanting to be travel hosts, and so few travel shows. If you want to be in the public eye, get experience like Sam did.
I'm a professional musician, and I, myself know much about these things. I had a triple major in music, and am very happy with my life. I have no dreams of being a travel host, but if you do, hang in there, and never give up your dreams. They just may come true!

Hello there, dangergal5,
Unfortunately, I have not received any sort of response from Samantha Brown personally or otherwise. I've done quite a bit of reading about her, her job, life, schedule, etc...& it seems she keeps quite a busy schedule to say the least. I'm not sure if this is the reason for a lack of response, along with goodness knows how many messages she recieves from people all over the world! Anyhow, my question was just out of pure curiousity. But if I do get a reply; I'll be glad to share it with you! Smile
Hope school goes well for you!

Hello there, littlepinetree,
No, unfortunately, I haven't received a reply from Samantha Brown personally or otherwise. However, I've done quite a bit of reading on her, her life, work, schedule(s), etc....and it seems she's ALWAYS quite busy; to the point where she states: "...my favorite thing is just being home, in my apartment..." So I imagine she's quite busy, as I've said, not to mention how many other people write to her! I was also somewhat, surprised HOW MANY OTHER PEOPLE HAD THE EXACT SAME QUESTION AS MINE!!!! Can you imagine! Anyhow, if/when I do hear anything, I'll be more than glad to share it with you! Although, I must admit, my question to Sam, was purely out of curiousity! I don't have any plans of going into that sort of work, as nice as it sounds, I know there's also lots of "draw-backs!!" So I too am quite happy with my current career of the past 16-17 yrs...as a licensed Cosemetologist! I am fortunate to be self employed as I've mentioned and therefore, able to travel more than I ever thought I'd be able to do! So I count myself, quite fortunate! Smile
