I took off for Norway not long ago and had a wonderful time there. The small quaint country is fairly quiet and peaceful with a rustic charm, especially in Telemark, where I hiked. This is a very 'green' nation, lots of vegetation and people appear to be quite environmentally conscious. In Oslo, I found it easy to talk to people, especially about literature (Go figure!). Lots of boats--people there enjoy fishing and boating in general. Pleasant place, easy to get around as transportation is quite modern in Oslo, and everybody spoke great English (but take a phrase book).
