I wish that was a treat! I have decided that the only decent shows out of the past two seasons were Tuscany, Paris, New Hampshire, Brooklyn and the Smoky Mountains. All others seemed like they could have been in any place...inter-changeable. Oh and parts of Orlando were OK! But, thanks for letting us know Now...dear Travel Channel...a REAL treat would be releasing Great Hotels, Great Vacation Homes & Girl Meets Hawaii on DVD!!

Agreed, bluebelles! With everything. I must say, I haven't enjoyed Great Weekends. It's not very inspiring and seems a bit generic, more focused on having fun than culture and history. I've given up on trying to watch it. The magic simply isn't there.
Yes, PLEASE, let's get Great Hotels, GVH, and GMH on DVD! I miss the good ol' days of PineRidge...

Amen to that, cruiseluver. And good to hear from you again and that you're alive and well. I agree 100%, I thought it was just me, but I see others feel the same way. I take it that your studies are going well. Take care.

I've also not been a fan of Great Weekends. It just seems contrived to me. I realize all shows are contrived to some extent but the trick is not to show it and the producers of this series seem not to have learned that basic fact.

Haha, yes, I'm alive nunesy! I just haven't really been on because, like I said, I haven't been watching the new shows and therefore, I have nothing to talk about here. School's good, thanks.

While I do agree with the collective criticism of the content and style of the show expressed above, I do believe that Samantha has some genuine fun in each episode, which I always find enjoyable to see.
