My husband and I just love to watch your show.
You listed the Palmer Home carriage house in Charleston SC as the "Best Vacation Spot in Charleston SC". After I researched this Inn on the Web, I booked a week-end get-a-way there for my husband and myself for our 16th Wedding Anniversary for September 5th & 6th, 2008. However, there was a severe threat of a Hurricane/Tropical Storm "Hanna" making travel conditions very dangerous that week and I called the Inn 4 times asking if they would just reschedule our stay. My husband and I had long awaited this vacation and we were so excited, we really wanted to stay there and just wanted to reschedule. Needless to say the Owner of the Inn "Ms. Palmer" would not reschedule or even offer a refund of my deposit. It was only after 30 days later I sent letters to the Better Business Bureau of SC and the Consumer Affairs Office of SC that she responded with my refund. Then she reported to them that she had offered to use my deposit for a future stay but I had refused. This was "ABSOUTELY A FALSE STATEMENT". I asked her 4 times to reschedule my visit and she REFUSED. My husband and I are on a very limited income and this was going to be a dream week-end as we have never had a Wedding Anniversary get-a-way since we were married 16 years ago. Needless to say we never have had another opportunity for another Anniversary Vacation. I am a very trusting person and I trusted this Inn to do the right thing, but unfortunately I was wrong. Hopefully, my husband will have better luck in the future.
