On the Disney's Christmas show, I didn't hear Samantha say Christmas not one time. It was always, the hollidays or the season. Is she trying to be political correct so she doesn't afend anyone? It's a shame! Christ is the reason for the season! Say Christmas!

I’m just guessing, but I’d be willing to bet that the choice of wording used in the show was Disney’s.

I'm pretty sure David's right on this one. I however am not bothered by the use of the word holidays because so many of my friends celebrate for different reasons. I'd rather think of this time as a spiritual celebration, not a political argument. Btw, I really enjoy Sam's shows on Disney. The holiday episode happens to be one of my favorites. Misty

Was there a new Christmas special? Oh and I'm pretty sure it wasn't Sam who made the decision to eliminate the word "Christmas." Probably the TC or Disney. Besides, if she did keep saying "Christmas" we'd have other people complaining... I guess you can't please everyone. I'm all for Christmas though.

With all due respect to whatever you're celebrating, you need to call it what it is and not pretend it's offending someone. If there was a Santa Claus, then it's Christmas, not Hanukkah, not Kwanzaa. Now if they want to include celebrations for other things, that's fine. It shouldn't offend anyone. I'm not offended when a Jewish friend wishes me a Happy Hanukkah. As a Christian, I'm proud to celebrate Christmas and nobody should be offended by that. I will respect whatever it is you celebrate, just leave my Christmas alone.

Hey Cruiseluver, nice to see you popping in, how are things going at Loyola? In answer to your question, there’s still just the Christmas Special from 2007. Hope you've had a relaxing and enjoyable Christmas break.

I had to check this after this spirited discussion, but in fact there are over a dozen verbal references to "Christmas" in this show. Remember the Candlelight Processional, "with a dramatic reading of the Christmas story, backed by a mass choir and a 50-piece orchestra"?
Happy Twelfth Night, everyone!

Thanks for setting the record straight on this hot burning topic. You’ve saved the reputations of Samantha, Disney, and the TC.
