My travels over the years has taken me to those states and for sure you are out in nowhere but everyone is content with their way of life. When Charlie moved here from Colorado in 95 we experienced Kansas as his Grandma lived there I too was struck by the quaint areas the center of town was the Dairy Queen and thank goodness when we were there we could experience more of it with the Kansas State Fair. You should check out the small towns of Colorado too if you get a chance. We just returned a few weeks ago doing a 1500 mile trip in two weeks in Denver and
small towns around the state. The kids and I were in awe!! If you want to know more of your geneology on your mom's side I can put you in touch with a cousin of your Mom's that is delving into it and has got a lot of it. information.
