Tiffany,
First off - I think you are doing a wonderful job and hopefully Discovery will continue to support your efforts. Second, I have an idea. For the past 9 months I have been re-fitting an old cuddy cabin boat. New engine, radar, gps, radios, chart plotters and the whole nine yards. To celebrate its second life, I plan on taking an extended trip in the boat next summer. I plan on traveling down the Ohio River and Mississippi River to New Orleans this coming summer. I live in North Central West Virgina - there is a small, yet navigable river near where I plan on starting this trip. The river flows north 127 miles to Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. From Pittsburgh, I can hop onto the Ohio River and from there to the Mississippi - then all the way down to New Orleans. Sure there are some great Americana on the scenic highways and byways of the USA. And there are some wonderful small towns. But if you want to get into the 'heart' of the American small town - take a river trip. This will take several weeks to complete, and I will have at least one HD camcorder on board. I plan on stopping at all the oddities, numerous small towns, and tons of marinas along the way. I've got a ton of planning to do for this trip, but it will be done. Let me know if you have any pointers, suggestions or potential stops that you think I should do. Thanks in advance - Jeremy McGowan |

If you, or any part of Discovery is interested in participating in any part of this trip - you are more than welcome. I have no plans on creating a 'show' about the trip - but more of a video documentation for my own purposes. Should anyone wish to accompany or follow for documentary reasons - please let me know. |

Dear Tiffany and Jeremy McGowan,
The annual Blues Festivalis in Helena AR. in October usually around the 5th. You will fall in love with the music that encouraged musical geniuses such as Eric Clapton and Bob Dylan. If you want true Southern culture, this is the town! Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions. The food is fantastic! Anthony Bourdain should join you! Have fun! Sincerely, Pansy Kiner |
