i have been a gold prospector for 35 years, and have a large gold prospecting community online. recently, i watched one of your episodes that showed ms. gum at "Roaring Camp" in northern california. in one of the scenes, it showed an old man 'washing" down the river bed bedrock above the water line with a high pressure hose. this is cosidered whats called "hydrolic mining" and is SERIOUSLY against the law. i saw that on the show and i about fell over. its really none of my business, but if i were you guys, in the future, id make sure to check out the legalities of what some of these people are doing before showing it on TV.

I looked up the camp on-line and noticed the prices of staying there. That in itself is kinda a turn-off. The pull is to get you a raging case of "gold fever" and think you would recoup the price of admission with all the gold you would find. The people on the show had mined that area their WHOLE LIVES not just a quick week. The show is fun to watch, and always sets me wondering.... I just wish they would put at the end the cost for someone to go there and do the same thing.
