This is the show out at the Opal Hill Mine. The Opal Hill Mine can only be safely accessed for a couple more weeks. We've already hit the hundred degree mark twice this year. Please for your own safety DON'T try this adventure until Oct. 2008. This is a very extreme area in the summer months, sometimes even exceeding 130 degrees, we haven't had rain in quite some time, so the washes are very sandy, and don't forget the rattlesnakes, ( again no rain ) are really out, and about this year looking for water sources. If you are looking for a fall tour to the Opal Hill Mine write me regarding availability. For a list of summer 2008 rockhounding tours visit www.wiitaminingandexploration.com. Thanks from Wiita Mining for a great season.
