i live in the Fl keys and dive all the time. in the last show of 'treasure hunters' the host was in hawaii and was 'spearfishing'. they hunted waht i think were 'tangs' and were extreamly proud that they killed them to eat.
my question is, do they eat these tangs? and are they different from the tangs i enjoy diving and seeing down here in the Keys? or is it just GOOD TV?
please dont skew viewers thinking they can go and throw a 'spear gun' at anything and be proud of thier catch.

I agree! They got this whole show wrong by miles!!! Those fish they speared were Achilles tangs and they are listed for sale on saltwaterfish.com for 139.95 each right now!!! what kind of idiot would shoot them to eat when the total value is 420.00?
As for the shells, at best she had five dollars worth not seventy as stated in the show. The small black and white cone shaped one was a Hebrew cone but what they grossly neglected to tell you is that some cones are venomous!!!! if you go digging up sand trails with bare hands you just might get more than you bargained for.
