I recently watched a "cash and treasures" show with host Becky Whorley. During one part of the show, she was collecting quite a few shark teeth from a Florida river. Every once in a while, someone would come up with a prehistoric megalodon shark tooth from the dinosaur age. I missed which Florida rivers they were getting the shark teeth from. If anyone can tell me which river(s) Becky was getting the shark teeth from, I'd appreciate it. Thanks.

I'm not sure about which specific river she was looking in, but the Peace River would be my best guess. Second guess would be the Manatee River. The Peace has yielded an incredible amount of fossil finds.

Many of the Megalodont finds in Florida have been made by surf prospecting off Venice Beach. Largest one ever brought into my shop was 6" - about a $600 tooth at 1995 prices.

Right you are Gemcuttr, Peace River it is. Both Kirsten: http://www.travelchannel.com/TV_Shows/Treasure_Hunter_K...rk%27s_Teeth_Toolkit
and Becky: http://www.travelchannel.com/TV_Shows/Treasure_Hunter_K...alodon_Teeth_Toolkit
have gone there. Lots of smaller teeth and mammal bones and now & then a megatooth.
