Anyone planning to go out to the Opal Hill Mine should call to make reservations before heading out. There isn't always someone out there, and it is a long, rough ride out there. If you have any questions regarding the Opal Hill Mine Please contact me @ opalhillmine.com . I can either guide you out, and make sure you leave with fire agate, or I'll help you contact Howard, and Nancy to meet you. I can also answer any questions for you on this show.
Thanks Craig

Anyone who wants to see some of the beautiful pieces I've found at the Opal Hill Mine, log on to www.wiitaminingandexploration.com
Just remember these pieces didn't just jump into my bucket. It's hard rock mining, and yes it's hard, and it's rock.

Go to my www.wiitaminingandexploration.com site
go to the N.A. treasure hunter page, link to that site, go to the information page to see cleaning process. Remember any calcite formations will be removed with this acid cleaning, so make sure what is on the rock matrix first. Thanks Craig

Was this the place where that woman said she found $10,000 worth of Opal within an hour. I think they kind of fudge the truth to get people to go there and pay. The show must be bringing in a lot of people.

No truthseeker, the Opal Hill Mine is fire agate not opal. If you go and pay your $25.00 dig fee, and try, you will find some beautiful fire agate. There is always a chance of opening a pocket worth $10,000.00, or more. Look at some of the pieces I've found at the Opal Hill Mine www.wiitaminingandexploration.com . Don't expect to get rich everytime you go out treasure hunting, but with a positive attitude you just might get lucky.

Well the summer has hit us here in the desert southwest, yesterday was the first of many days over 110 degrees. This is NOT the time of year to visit the Opal Hill Mine. Please don't become a statistic this desert can be a killer for 5 months of the year. No piece of fire agate is worth your life. Here is an instructional video on fire agate mining, enjoy this until it cools off in the fall http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VdBaiGJpOnM
or www.wiitaminingandexploration.com
Hope to see you at the mine in the fall.

Be careful traveling out to the Opal Hill Mine to start the season. We have had some heavy monsoon storms, which have made the road hard to travel. 4x4 only is the only way to make sure you make your destination. For a guided tour log on to www.wiitaminingandexploration.com , and book your private tour. My clients find more of the good stuff. Thanks Craig Wiita
