Hi Everyone,

Have read all the stuff on the website about the show. It really looks great. Only problem is I dont get cabel and want to get a copy of the show they did on Sunstones. Does anyone out there have a copy of the show they could send me?? I am an avid Sunstone collector and would like to watch this one. Would be glad to pay for any shipping to get it.

Good luck to you all!!

I was just reading through the posts here, and saw the recommendation that we write in here if we would like to see this show continued. I don't watch nearly enough television to consider myself much of a tv watcher, but must admit that I would be truly heartbroken if this show was cancelled. I honestly look forward to seeing this program every week, and that is an extremely rare statement when coming from me...

In this day of sex, disgusting language, and violence on many regular network programs, it is honestly refreshing to be able to turn to a program where the topics are wholesome and interesting, and the host is vivacious and enthusiastic as she takes us along on her new adventure each week. She truly is the perfect host for the show, and there are tons of places out there to which she has not taken us. I look forward to going there with her in the future! I encourage others who enjoy this show to voice their opinions here, as well!

I cerainly hope this show remains on the air. Becky is a natural and funny too! I'm into metal detecting, bottle digging and anything that may be found in my area which is NW Oklahoma. Most of my finds aren't great but great fun.I did find something that I haven't a clue about and may send in a pic.Maybe others could identify it. I'm also a ghost hunter which is a little of this path. Anyway, this is a fun show.Keep it!!!!!

My husband and I really enjoy Cash and Treasures, and watching Becky as the host. She is refreshing and funny and puts a real human touch to all her adventures. A sure hope you stay on for many seasons as most of the other tv shows are trash.

We live in an old farm house in New Mexico-our dogs dig, the wind blows, erosion happens-We have found pieces of pottery, glass, old buttons and an old silver spoon, on our land (less than an acre)alone.

We arrowhead hunt and have found numerous large Anasazi pottery shards and some arrowheads. We find Pecos Valley Diamonds old beads near ant hills and other great items!

This show is what we love about America-history! and it helps us decide where we want to go on vacation.

PLEASE keep it on the air! With Becky, of course!!!

Could you please do a show in Idaho, it is called the Gem State, you have garnets, opals, agates, and many more types of gems, plus you can also find a lot of fossils and Indian artifacts. I personally think that the best place to go is Owyhee County in the south-west corner of Idaho. Please do a show in Idaho, you probably won't regret it.

I love the show and would be greatly disappointed if it wasn't picked up for another season. I wish it was advertised just a bit more. I just happened to stumble on it while flipping channels one night.

My rockhound friend, Mike, and I have decided you are living our dream. Mike even took a couple years off from his life as an aerospace engineer to film a documentary of a world famous mine in Colorado that has now been sealed. His thought was that he could build on that experience to create a series of rockhounding videos. Unfortunately we didn't have the wisdom to find a host like Becky so the series never materialized and he is back to his mundane job as a rocket scientist.

BTW, if the show does continue, we could probably connect you up with a fairly well known collector that will be working on Mt Antero this summer. What better locale could you find than collecting minerals high up on a 14,000 ft peak in Colorado.

I come from a long line of travelers, and treasure hunters. My grandfather was one of the owners of a company known as Caribe salvage. Knew Mel Fisher, and was in Nat. Geo for finding the wreck of the Tolosa. The article known as ( The quicksilver galleons) My wife has lost all hope. When my grand father died, most of his papers, and nicknacks were put in storage.3 years ago, we had to empty the storage facility. Wow, you can find many interresting items in storage places. Some of the shipwreck items went to the shipwreck museum in Md, (thank you Dale).

Now we have found some of his notes with locations of some pretty cool hunts.(some good advice from Dale at the museum" stay local", this is cheaper and easier to plan. " look where its already been found" that will improve your chances.)

I started out with some soil from a columbian emerald mine, and found many carrats of low quality stone. That was enough to stir my blood.

So now my stones are at the cutters, and I'm planning a gold trip to Va. After that, its out house diggin for bottles, and a trip to Gem mountain. when you think about it, treasures are all around us. GOD HELP MY WIFE.

The show is great and Becky is an asset. She makes the show fun to watch and she is pretty good to watch also. Lets renew the show with her, and we will all be happy.
I enjoy collecting relics and arrow heads etc.,and now getting interested in "stones" too.
Thats the power of the show and of course, Becky. Keep up the good work.
Thanks.

Im english by birth but now live in kansas city missouri with my two children who are 12 and 15 years old. After alot of scrimping and saving i told the kids that this year we could go to disneyworld on holiday but instead, after watching becky, theyve decided they want to go on a field trip down to georgia to try to find my 15 year old daughter her birthstone (amethyst)! How many kids do you know that choose grubbing in dirt over disneyworld Big Grin Please let Becky know that i am absolutely jealous of her job, it really looks like she has great fun. Britnchick1: Please call ahead. I would hate to see your vacation ruined. In one of the other threads someone posted that the amethyst mine is now closed. I cant verify this, but I think you should try. There are still a lot of other mines to go to, especially in North Carolina, where you can find all kinds of goodies, including amethyst. Just wanted you to know, like i said, dont want to see your vacation ruined.

I recently returned from North Carolina and the Ruby mines. After watching the first treasure show I had to go digging. We spent one day at a mine where you dig your own and came back with, well nothing. The day before our trip was over we pulled over to a place that brought the buckets from the mines already pre-washed. They were a little pricey but they assured me that the native buckets were not salted with stones from South America. Needless to say I came home with 4 bags of precious and semi precious stones, rubies, emeralds, sapphires, garnets, tourmaline (I now have a beautiful green ring from this stone and 2 large ones left) topaz, and lots of amethyst. My problem is I had no time to take my stones to be evaluated by anyone local and I have yet to find someone where I live (Destin, Florida). Can someone help me! I would like to cash in so I can go back!

As avid watchers of the program, we decided to add Gem Mountain to our Spring romp through the state of North Carolina. Not only was it an interesting drive UP that mountain (OK AND DOWN), our giant bucket of rock yielded quite the lot of stones. We walked away with a sandwhich sized ziploc bag full of gem cutting quality stones, and a gallon of "just for fun keepers" It's what we left behind that's fabulous. I left with the gem cutter an almost 300 ct amethyst. It was cut and mounted in gold and returned via insured mail to me 7 weeks later.

I know have a STUNNING 16 ct flawless pear shaped stone mounted in white gold. (almost the size of a quarter.) Even my local jeweler was speechless.

A grand treat from a fabulous stop.

Britnchick, in answer to "How many kids would chose digging rocks over Disney?". You'd be surprised. When I do festivals and events with our sluice and mineral rough, once people know I'm there, they beeline it right to me. I can't tell you how many times after the kids and families are done;I have heard the kids say to the parents, I'm ready to go home now. I'm satisified, not interested int he rides/games and I'm ready to start sorting and getting the tumbler going. Actually it's quite satisfying to know that what we have to offer "quenches the thirst" for fun and excitement in that sort of competitive atmosphere!! Chris www.backbaymining.com

What a great show! Our family loves to watch, it's exciting, and best of all educational! Our 7 yr. old desperately wants to hunt for sunstones and thunder eggs--we thought, "Why not?" What better way to choose a vacation destination we can all look forward to and enjoy.

Thank you Becky and crew!

Winflodone--She posted this on the forums page under Becky Worley.
Hi all:
First- I just wanted to thank everyone for their thoughtful comments, criticisms, and opinions about the show. I am thrilled that so many people have watched the show, and that our adventures have inspired others to jump off the couch and go treasure hunting.

Next up- I won't be hosting the second season of Cash and Treasures.... BUT I have a good excuse. I'm pregnant with twins!

I didn't think crawling around in small places, swinging a pick ax and enduring hundred degree days would make for healthy babies. And I didn't think that maternity jeans and an ever expanding waistline would make for the best TV.

What I do know is that the crew LOVES the new host (and knowing those guys- that means she's really good). I can't wait to meet her and see the new season.

If you want a visual on the pregnancy thing- I was on Good Morning America Last week and they did a sweet announcement at the end of the segment. follow this link and click on the white poodle picture in the upper right hand corner to watch the segment.

Thanks to you all for your support and enthusiasm.

I just want to know who the editor is for Cash and Treasures because apparently he/she did not catch a big error in the Star Garnet show where they placed the state of Wisconsin next to the state of Idaho on their map of destination (it's Montana, not Wisconsin). Do your research. You should know where the states belong on the map, especially if you are going to be showing it on national television.

While it's just dynamite that you've got a host voted "the sexiest woman in Charlotte, N.C. twice," what your show is lacking is not sex, it's an understanding that looting, treasure hunting, and pothole digging is illegal and immoral. You CAN'T dig on public land (it's against the law), and you although you may "get the landowners permission," the value of digging with real archaeological precision is of far more value than destroying irreplaceable sites to get a few bottles. Keep your metal detectors to the beaches and stop messing with history.

Hi everyone, a few months ago there a topic started named virgin valley opals for some reason the topic is read only, I dug out a huge opal out of the royal peacock mine in nevada back in august I believe there has been over 5000 views on that topic I would really like to answer any questions or show you pictures of what me and my wife were blessed with. It was your show that got us to our treasure. Is it possible to open up topic again I think the 5000 viewers would agree, thanks Ralph and Michelle

Thanks to Cash and Treasures, I have now been to Hogg Mine 4 times. I am planning on going back. I have met Marcy, Robert, and Rodney that worked with the crew. I have about 4 lbs of higher graded rose quartz that I am using for material on my faceting machine and for trade. I have a big cup of solid black tourmaline to practice on. I have a small chip of gem grade aquamarine and have now seen a 25ct+ internally flawless piece that was cornflower blue found. Thanks for the show.

I have plans to try sunstone, montana shappire, and tourmaline mining in the next couple years.

I'm tired of watching that big, bald guy eat disgusting food. That is not entertainment. Bring back Becky & the crew. We rockhounds are addicted.
Also, make sure you advertise the CORRECT time & day of the show. Last season the adverts in my area misled viewers to the Bizarre Food show.

Hi everyone,

I have been fascinated with rocks and minerals since I was a boy. While I was an undergraduate at the University of Illinois, I took courses in Geology for mine own edification. One of my most treasured memories from college is when we were actually sent out to do field work. I never had so much fun in my life!

My primary interests, besides collecting rock and mineral specimens, is sedimentary and igneous petrology. I enjoy the challenge of reading the rocks and trying to figure out the Earth history contained within them.

Even though I'm not a geologists by profession, I still have a great passion for going out into the field with my pick hammer, hand lens and other tools.

I have been hooked on "Cash and Treasure" and now "Treasure Hunter" since they both first aired. And, I just love Kirsten. She is just perfect for these shows.

Having moved to Indiana fairly recently from Chicago, I have had to become acquainted with the state's geology. Probably the most abundant mineral in this state would be calcite, since this area was once covered by a warm shallow ocean. The bedrock consist mostly of limestone as a result, with some coal in the southern part of the state. The area in which I live is covered with a fairly thick layer of glacial till from the last ice age, and it is not uncommon, for example, to see huge glacial erratics of granite that were carried and deposited in this region long ago. The primary rocks to be found here in Indiana are limestone, chert, arkose, shale, sandstone and conglomerates. Some of the minerals that I have come across are flourite, quartz and chalcedony (particular within geodes) and lots and lots of calcite! LOL

My dream is to one day take a cross-country train ride and visit some of the wonderful places that Kirsten has visited in the many episodes of both "Cash and Treasure" and "Treasure Hunter".

Even though I haven't made a fortune off of any of my specimens I have some excellent specimens of Sodalite (which have been cut to be used as bookends), optical quality Calcite (i.e. Iceland Spar), Gray Hematite, chain coral in a shale groundmass, which I found in my late father-in-law's backyard, and a very nice specimen of pumice, just to name a few. They may not be worth a fortune (actually I don't know how much they're worth, since I've never had them appraised), but they are priceless to me!;-)

I just want to thank Kirsten and the crew for keeping up my passion for exploring and finding the wondrous treasures of the Earth.

I just watched the show about using metal detectors around old plantations and civil war sites and I must say that although I generally enjoy the show, this one disappointed me. I believe what they were actually doing was looting archaeological sites. On private property yes, but their "treasures" contribute to the overall history of the area and if taken alone without fully documenting the entire site and additional related artifacts, the information, or "treasures", fall short of reconstructing history and the human experience. I hope that archaeological sites will be left alone in future episodes and that anyone reading this learns to appreciate historical sits, and not just the cool or pretty things that such a site may yield.

Here's the only story I have thus far: I'm sick of all the food shows and would like to see more treasure hunting adventures. Kirsten's is one of the few programs I still try to watch on the Travel Channel. I say "try to watch" since it seems her show isn't on much these days. I'm getting bummed; enough with the "food" stuff already.
