OK,...Here goes my most scary story that I have ever experienced. During high school, a group of my friends stumbled upon this place we called "Margaret's Grave"..It was simply a small headstone located behind a huge oak tree on a remote road in BFE, about 5 miles East of Fort Wayne, IN...Go East on Notestine Rd, between Woodburn + Harlan, IN...go about 3 miles and turn right...Not sure of the name of the road anymore. Anyways So a few of my friends and I had been out several times to read the epitaph and see if anything scary happened...We only ever got a few cold chills, nothing special. My senior year, this D-bag stole the headstone and threw it on his X-girlfriends porch, breaking it in half. He put it back, but we all think something changed at that place from there on. During the 2nd semester of my sophomore year in college (99), my best friend and I were driving around and decided to pay the place a visit for old times sake. That was a mistake. It was a nice, warm summer day just before dusk..The sun was almost at the tree line so it was starting to throw some shadows. We got out of my car and walked over to the tree, reminiscing about our high school days, pranks, etc. After about 10 minutes of joking around, we decided to re-enact the supposed tale of how to get a reaction from Margaret's spirit. We got something. Supposedly, you are supposed to read the epitaph 2 times with your eyes open, then only 1 person is to read the epitaph on the third time, everyone else is to keep their eyes closed. She is supposed to come out of the tree and touch people on the shoulder. So, we got through the first two readings, on the third I shut my eyes, my best friend with his U.S.M.C. issued mag light began to read it for the third time. In the middle of the recant, his light began flickering, then totally went out. He told me to mess with it to see if I could keep it on, I did so and began to read it the third time, but again, in the middle, it went out, so I decided to just finish the epitaph without any light. As soon as I did, the flashlight came back on and was shinier than usual. Suddenly there was a cold gust, not breeze, of wind that came from the shoulder high corn field right behind us. So yes, we were sorta scared at that point, but I thought it was coincidental, about 5 seconds later we began hearing brushing and tearing of corn stalks and saw something coming straight out the field and right towards us, but there was NOTHING there....That was enough for two United States Marines to see. We RAN back to my car and jumped in...I looked back as I was getting into my car and saw something I don't like to talk about, least try and describe, but most of you have probably had some sort of similiar experience, hence your interest in the paranormal. If you have seen the movie "the frighteners" then that is the closest thing, but it had red glowing eyes. It wore a dark cloak and had a grey outline which blurred its actual appearance..it jumped from the cornfield and grabbed the giant oak tree and swung around digging what I can only describe as claws into it...It moved silently and with a purpose...Definately a male presence...and definately with malice. As soon as I turned on my car I floored it, my best friend kept screaming "go go go go", and as I did, it lept from the tree and started chasing the car down the road even as my car ripped up grass, mud, and the gravel that lined the side of the road. Neither of us have ever gone back, and we don't discuss it with each other, but at that moment I knew that there was something I could never fully explain to anyone who was not there. I think that has been a common thread among people that have experienced real paranormal experiences, their too overwhelming to explain, but you know exactly how you felt and what you saw.
