Mine, so far, is what happened last evening out at my local cemetary that I've been telling about. We decided to just go without dousing rods, and just hold a seyaunce instead of the whole full-blown investigation. Our video and digital cameras' batteries suddenly went dead and we couldn't get any sound, pictures, or videos at all. The candle we had in front of us was smashed off a wall around a stone monument we were sitting near. Long story short, we were terrifyed and all ran like heck out of there! I think I'd rather leave any future investigations of that place up to some professionals, because last night was just way too much for me to handle even with 5 other people there with me.

Hey, I have lots of experiences all the time where I live, but I also have a favorite. I don't really count it as scary, but a bit funny .I was sitting in a reserved area at a pizzeria and brewery called Barley's in downtown Asheville while my mom was working there, and all of the sudden, coffee mugs and spoons flying off shelves behind me. I was so startled, I almost dropped my food!

I have an even funnier one, I didn't actually experience it but my aunt did. She was staying in one of those "haunted hotels" a few years ago. One of the ghosts of that hotel is supposed to love women and love flirting with the, too. My aunt was being told this by the woman at the front desk in the lobby, and just as she was saying about how ridiculous it sounded and how she totally didn't believe in that stuff, "some one" pinched her butt! She could of wet her pants from fright!

I don't know if I'd call this my "favorite" haunting, but its probably the most memrobable . . .
Back in 1995 I was sitting in my living room with my older son, who was a baby back then. I was rocking him to sleep while watching "Tuesday Night Boxing" on ESPN while waiting for my wife to get home from work. Sometime during one of the boxing matches I got this intense sense of something in our living room staring at me. It was giving off a VERY bad vibe, like it wanted me and my son dead. I grabbed my bible off the entertainment center and sat right in front of this presence and put my son in my lap while I read the scriptures as fast and as loud as I could. My son woke up but didn't cry or scream or anything, he just sat there wide-eyed looking around the room. Finally after what felt like about 15 minutes or so passed it felt like the evil presence had departed. I called my bishop the next morning and told him what happened and he sent out a member of the priesthood to bless and dedicate the house.
He (the preisthood member) said from what I described about the encounter that there had been a demon in our house and that I had reacted properly and that I was truly brave to face it down. I told him I wasn't trying to be a hero or anything, I was just trying to keep my son from harm.

Amazing Boss, Kudos to you on your fast thinking. How did you know what to do? Instinct or have you experienced that before? Most people whould just get out of the house. I know I would have.
My favorite haunting experience would have to be my first ghost hunting trip to the Mansfield Reformatory. It was amazing!

Mine didn't happen to me but to my oldest son and husband. My husband was trying to get our son to take a nap and he was pitching a huge fit. He would scream and thrash around just so my husband would give up and let him play. Then he just stopped and looked at the top of the closet (which had nothing in it, I had emptied it to rearange stuff) and looked at his Daddy and asked who that was pointing to the closet. There was nothing there, soon my son just smiled and rolled over and fell asleep. Another time my son was laying with me in bed (nightmares kept him running in our room) and he wispered and said there was a bad man behind me, he was so scared that it freaked me out. I rolled over and saw nothing and asked if he was still there and my son just nodded yes. We flipped the Tv on and prayed that the "bad man" would go away, which he did. No one other than my husband believed us since he went through something similar with our son. We moved 3 years later, the house ws actually peaceful for the most part.

I'n not sure if it was instinct or not, but I remember thinking, "What are you doing in my house?! I'm not going to let you run me out of my own house and you're certanly NOT going to harm my son!" I guess my "paladin" side came out that night. I use the term paladin, because I have a close friend who's really into the psychic stuff tell me that's one of my traits. She said I'm always looking for a crusade to fight for. She thinks that's why I chose law enforcement as a career. Anyway, I was just trying to keep that demon, or whatever it was, away from my son.

My favorite ghostly encounter was actually pretty run of the mill. I was spending the night at a girlfriends house when i awoke just before dawn. I looked at her lying next to me and then at the clock but as i turned again to face her i saw at the foot of the bed A MAN IN A TOP HAT WITH A BLOODY MEATHOOK!
Okay i didn't but i did see a lovely woman with long dark redhair looking down at me with the saddest expression on her face and a longing in her eyes and no body from the chest down except a vague outline of a green sundress. I at once wanted to ask her who she was but she turned and vanished away.
Yeah there i was in bed naked with a woman i could pretty much see through from the chest down staring at me. I though about it and then fell back asleep.
The next day my girlfriend and i went out to eat. We talked politics and art and then as it got quiet i told her that her house was haunted. She looked at me in shock and i was thinking that she must think i'm crazy.
However she asked me how i knew and i told her what i saw. She then told me about strange things happening in her home she knew could only be ghostly (stuff moving, door knobs turning) and hearing voices. She also said that i was the first person to actually see the ghost.
I never found out who the ghost was and i can't remember where the house is anymore but i'll always remember the look on that ghosts' sad face.

Mine is when I was with a friend at my house. I was 10 and my friend was also. I didn't know then I could sense the presence of a spirit. I usually wake up when they're near.
Anyway we were sleeping and I had just been woken up. I looked at the foot of the bed and then the door. At the door was a blue mist in the shape of a person. I woke my friend and he was barley able to glimpse it. The figure disappeared and I haven't seen it since.

I've had numerous of them and don't have a favorite, so I have to say they're all my favorite. I worked in a haunted daycare for 11 years and the retail store I work in has a ghosty there. My sister lived in a few haunted locations and I was lucky enough to house sit for her a few times. I used to house sit for a friend who is a clairvoyant and a ghost hunter. Her house was haunted and boy did it let me know that they were there!

When I was young, I couldn't look at a cemetery at night without intense spine tingle fear that would almost take my breath away. I I had a terrifying moment walking by a cemetery when I was in my early 20s. I forgot to look away. As I looked at the headstones, I saw spirits begin to rise. I screamed, and they went away. Ever since then, I have no problem looking at cemeteries any time of the day. Did I scare them? Or did they realize what a wimp I am?
