maryalone, should own a copy of dead birds, heh. I haven't seen Resident Evil, it must always be on, but somehow I haven't caught it. Do you remember the original Night Stalker tv show? I think Sci-Fi showed the repeats. My Mom loved that show.
I haven't seen the movie Resident Evil, but I've played all the games. I'm on about my fifth time through Resident Evil 4. It's just that good. <nods>.
Back to the topic of Scary Spook movies . . . My favorites.
Psycho (Hitchcock, not the rip-off) Texas Chainsaw Massacre (original is best) Taxi Driver. Yeah, it's not a "Horror" movie, but real-life senarios are the scariest.
Yes, I must agree that Texas Chainsaw massacre was pretty scary! Thanks for reminding me cause I forgot all about that one. Another one I thought was pretty scary was Thirteen Ghosts and almost forgot, The Sixth Sense.
I just thought of a movie that I saw back in the 70's when I was little, but can't remember the name. In the movie, this lady recieved this little black doll of an african warrior in the mail, I think her brother sent it to her. The doll had a knife in his hand and magical necklace or bracelet, can't remember which . As the woman set the doll on her coffee table the necklace/bracelet fell off. The doll came to life and attacked the woman with the knife. She tried diffrent ways to destroy the doll, even stuffed it in the toaster oven. Does any one remember this movie, I'm very interested in the name of the movie. Thanks.
"Trilogy of Terror". They remade it a couple years ago, I watched it recently on Showtime, but it wasn't nearly as good as the orignal. And we were really young when we saw it! It starred Karen Black (stewardess in Airport '75). I think Showtime called it "Trilogy of Horror".
I did a little research and found out the name of the movie, it's Amelia. It's part of a trilogy, because they all star Karen Black. But each movie has a diffrent name and this movie is the third of the triology. The doll was a Zuni doll. You can check out the details here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Trilogy_of_Terror.
you are in luck cubaricanindahouse.I know the movie.actually it was a short story series.there were 3 little stories made into one movie kind of like what the twilight zone movies copied. Two of the three maybe all three had a popular 70's actresss whom I loved as a kid because she was freaky, and for some odd reason I found her attractive(but i was in my early to mid teens so i found everything attractive, lol). The series was called trilogy of terror. That warrior doll was the second of the three part movie. It was a zulu warrior doll, that would bring a curse to whomever broke the chain off the doll and it would make it come to life.I love the end of the movie where Karen Black looks so demented that even Steven King would say WTF, lol.I have it poorly taped on a old video cassette and break it out every once in a while.I don't know if you can find it on a video tape, but I doubt you will find it on a dvd, but if you look for it and you do find it on dvd, let me know okay.I can't remember the exact name of that particular story, but it is all three in one and are like 30 minute stories of each. The three part movie is for sure called "trilogy of terror".Good luck in finding it.
I promise to keep an eye out for that DVD and let you know right away! And don't feel too bad, in those days my sister had a big time crush on spock from Star trek And I had a crush on captain kirk, lol. I found a site that talks about he trilogy, it's posted above your reply. You might want to look it over as Karren Black's Picture is on the cover. Thank you very much for your reply, really appreciate it!!!
Karen Black was the best at looking creepy and bizarre, which was one of the great abilities she had, remember the sceen in Ameilia from the trilogy of terror at the end after she calls her mom to come over and she squats by the door with a huge knife waiting for her, she tears the lock off with her bare hands, lol she is looking less than pleasant during these moments, lol.there will never be anyone as bizarre as her.
Oh yes, you're so right, she is the best at looking creepy! lol. Very good actress, not many around like her. She played all her characters to the best of her ability and did a pretty good job.

Scariest Movies Ever List of the most frightening horror movies ever made
The Shining - Numerous memorable scenes come to mind, (redrum, all work and no play, man in the bunny suit) - but they all add up to make the scariest movie of all time.
Silence of the Lambs - The most visceral fear comes from one's own mind, and this one is the king of the psychological thrillers.
Se7en - So disturbing to the psyche it has its own rating category on Frank's Reel Reviews. I wonder if FedEx would really make that delivery!
King Kong - Despite the flickering gorilla fur, this one frightened a whole generation of new moviegoers.
Psycho - The most prominent representative of the genius of Hitchcock. Janet Leigh's shower scene is one of the most frightening scenes ever filmed for a movie.
The Ring - A ringing phone scared me for days after seeing this one. A clean change of underwear anyone?
Halloween (1978) - So scary it spawned no fewer than 8 direct sequels, not to mention numerous acknowledgements in other Hollywood productions.
Frankenstein (1931) - Combines a beautifully simplistic tale with the potent topic of man vs. nature to create a horrific fairy-tale that continues to mesmerize more than seven decades after its release
Carrie (1976) - Mixes telekinetic powers with our innate fear of being ridiculed to create a classic horror masterpiece.
Jaws (1975) - Forced a whole generation to stay out of the water. Is it safe to go back yet?
Night of the Living Dead (1968) - The Royal King Father of all zombie movies. That reminds me, I'm hungry!
Exorcist (1973) - Made an entire generation of filmgoers never order split pea soup again!
The Birds (1963) - The film's tagline alone says it all: "Suspense and Shock Beyond Anything You Have Seen or Imagined!" Ooooo, scary!
The Blair Witch Project (1999) - Although it turned out to be the biggest sham in filmmaking history, it was scary nonetheless.
The Changeling (1980) - I'll never see a wheelchair the same again!
Friday the 13th (1980) - Must be scarier than Halloween because it spawned more sequels!
Signs (2002) - Crop circles, Shyamalan and Aliens, Oh My!
Alien (1979) - Now I get extremely concerned every time I have indigestion.
My opinion on The Shining is that if you're going to mention scary scenes from that movie, how can you leave out the twin girls? "Come play with us Danny." <chills> twenty

Paranormal Phenomena Readers' Picks - Top Scariest Movies
Readers have responded in force to my choices for the top scariest movies ever made. There was a lot of agreement on most of the choices, but there was also quite a bit of "How could you possibly leave out...?" So here are the readers' choices for the scariest movies ever made - good choices all. They are not all in the ghost or "spooky" genre, but nonetheless frightening in their own ways. See if you agree.
1) Alien Alien was definitely the scariest science fiction movie of its day, and if you haven't watched it 500 times, it might still give you a jolt or two and set your nerves a-tingling. The H.R. Giger designed creature was like nothing moviegoers had ever seen before, and it was brilliant how it was made to blend in with the bio-tech design of the ship. The scariest scene, of course, was the arrival of the baby alien during dinner. The sequels weren't bad either.
