Back 3 or 4 years ago when florida was having all those crazy hurricanes.our family evacuated from our home during one of them. at the time my sister was managing a movie theatre in downtown Ocala. So we got to stay there,my family had our stuff in one of the movie rooms my wife had sent me to get something out of the bags. Now the power was out and the room was pitch dark. So I went in with a flashlight. I was bent over looking in one of the bags, i just happend to look up and I seen a white human shape pass thru me and then go out the door, well I forgot what I was looking for, when I noticed the door was moving. Now those theatre doors are very heavey to block out light and sound. I went to my wife who was talking to her aunt she looked at me and and said"I know."

This probably doesn't help, but, I haven't heard of too many theatres where strange things DIDN'T happen. I think it kinda goes with the territory, with all that tragedy being played out on the stage (you are referring to live theatres as opposed to movie-house theatres, aren't you?). I would imagine you could go to just about any theatre anywhere and find there's a ghost story surrounding it.

I used to perform at the Rocky Horror Picture Show in the old Franklin Cinema downtown in Franklin,TN and the second auditorium was haunted by the ghost of a man who was a regular patron years ago.
The owner would ask a few people to stay with him until he closed it and no one was allowed in that room at night.
In Columbia,TN the former owner of that towns movie theater is said to roam the halls at night as a maintence worker claims to have heard trash cans move and experience cold spots especially where there is no ventilation.

The old Lowes theater in downtown town Syracuse New York is haunted. It is one of the few so called 'grand theaters' left in the country. In the mid 70's it was saved from the wrecking ball (with moments to spare, literally) it is well known as a haunted place. It was restored, and reopened. I voluntered there as a teen in the 1980's, and saw and felt things every time I worked. Including the white lady in the balcony. All positive and creative energy, but haunted none the less.It also happens to be an amazing place, full of workmanship and art. No trip to Syracuse would be complete without it. It is on Salina St.
