This place has been around for quite awhile. it's known quite well to the locals as THE place to get a good filling meal on the cheap...and to get that $.25 cup of great coffee!

It's located in the TINY historical town called Guasti, which was one of the small wineries that grew to gigantic wineries in the first part of the 20th century. Guasti is just a small collection of those buildings now...but it has its own post office, a winery, a couple shops and two restaurants (one of which is the guasi cafe).

This Restaurant is a cheap rip-off of the Homestyle Cafe that was there for over 20 years. The restaurant closed down due to a death in the family and the restaurant was stold right from under them. The new owner renamed this restaurant as Guasti Cafe and stold the entire menu of Homestyle Cafe and made the restaurant look the same inside and have the same hours stating that they were formerly Homestyle Cafe. You can't fool us though Mr. Tollhouse you did a cheap rip-off here.

Who cares if it's a rip off? If the other place closed then it's hardly a rip-off.

The place is always packed so it can't be too bad.

And I think you mean 'stole'.

Does anyone out there recall "Homestyle Cafe" in Guasti being open for dinner way back when? I do! It was good food and reasonable.
