Please post your food challenge suggestions here for this state. If you have photos and video of the location, please upload them on our What's Your Trip site.

Here are some past posts about locations in this state:

Krazy Jim's Blimpy Burger, Ann Arbor

Located at the corner of Packard and S. Division in Ann Arbor, Michigan, Krazy Jim's Blimpy Burger is quite simply one of the best burger joints in America. They grind their own beef fresh from choice Western chuck. Then their friendly, personable staff throws the rounded balls of meat onto the grill, smashes them flat with a spatula and cooks your burger to crumbly perfection. The flavors and juices are just to die for.... literally and the current record for most patty's eaten in a single setting is 40, these are 2 oz patty's mind you so that’s 5 pounds of ground beef alone not counting cheese bun or whatever toppings you desire even grilled stuff... just make sure you know how to order before you step up. If you can eat more then 40 patties in a single setting you will get your picture on the wall perhaps interviewed by the paper and forever live in Krazy Jim history. I’ve seen you take on some insane challenges and win but do you think your man to take one 40+ patties and win? I dare you to try.

Tony's, Birch Run

T-Dub's, Frankenmuth

The Parlour, Jackson
Originally posted by: shenorai
Jackson Michigan has a family ice cream joint that has been around since 1944. The main attraction here is what is known as The Dare to be Great. There are 21 scoops of hand-dipped ice cream all with nuts, fudge, pineapple, caramel, strawberry, sprinkles, all with whipped cream and cherries on top. Along with the massive dessert comes the challenge with the same name. Those who attempt The Dare To Be Great Challenge earn their name on a plaque that is already pushing four panels. Those who complete The Dare To Be Great Challenge earn their name on a separate plaque. If I recall correctly, the winners also do not have to pay for the sundae.

B.C. Pizza, Lowell
Originally posted by: andyigel
B.C. Pizza has a new challenge called "The Sarge". It is a 20" pizza covered edge-to-edge with 9 toppings (pepperoni, ham, bacon, sausage, ground beef, mushrooms, green peppers, black olives, mushrooms). You have 1 hour to finish it off! By the way, it weighs just under 6 pounds! Let's see if Adam can beat "The Sarge"!

Papa Bears Restaurant , Muskegon

I (we) would love to see Adam Richman from the Travel Channel's Man v. Food take on the Grizzly Bear. It's a 10 pound stuffed hashbrown made up of shredded potatoes, ham, sausage, bacon, shredded cheese, sour cream, green peppers, mushrooms and onions-served on a silver platter with a spatula. It's HUGE! Only 15 people have ever been known to do it since it opened. I'm a BIG guy, and I have tried 5 times without success. If you can do it, you will earn a customized T-shirt. This place is a down home restaurant with a super friendly atmosphere with excellent service. They offer delicious food(man sized)portions. They make home made bread and serve breakfast until closing. You'll NEVER leave hungry. This place is a MUST when visiting beautiful Muskegon, Michigan. Papa Bears Restaurant at 2280 E. Apple Ave. Muskegon, Michigan 49442. Ph.# (231)-773-2067 "Home Of The Grizzly Bear"

Mr. Bee's, Muskegon

Mallie's, Southgate
Originally posted by: j3anyus
Mallie's is a sports bar in Southgate, Michigan, which is about 13 miles from Detroit. They currently hold the Guinness World Record for the biggest burger in the world, weighing in at about 164 pounds. This burger (called the Absolutely Ridiculous Burger) is so big that the bun alone weighs 50 pounds. Of course, this is far more food than Adam (or anybody) could ever hope to eat in a single sitting, but I'm sure a few dozen locals could be recruited to help devour it.

Stop In Family Restaurant, Niles
Originally posted by: bharder
With three pounds of beef, a half pound of shaved ham, a half pound of bacon, five slice of American and five slices of Swiss cheese, lettuce, tomato and mayo all crammed onto an eight-inch sourdough bun, Dave's Ultimate Burger isn't for the faint of heart - or stomach! The 7 lb behemoth, surround by two pounds of fries, is Dave McCarty's, owner of Stop In Family Restaurant in Niles, MI, challenge to locals and of course, Adam Richmond! Finish the burger and fries within an hour and receive it on the house. Otherwise, pay up! But please don't throw up!

The Corner Bar, Rockford
Originally posted by: sal2448
The Corner Bar's Hot Dog Hall of Fame was established in 1968. Since then, more than 5,000 names have been added to the Hot Dog Hall of Fame. Our longest-reigning champion was Sharon VanDuinen who ate 42 Ω chili dogs in the four-hour time allotment in March 1982 - a record that stood for 23 years. In December 2005, Balinda Gould gulped down 43 hot dogs to pass Sharon and be crowned our Amateur Champion. Then in March 2006, a number of competitors from the International Federation of Competitive Eating descended to take on what is perhaps the world's only chili-dog competition. Tim Janus beat out Joey Chestnut, Patrick Bertoletti and Hall Hunt to eat 43 1/2 dogs and become the reigning Professional Champion. The rules are simple. Eat 12 hot dogs with at least our special chili sauce in one four-hour sitting and YOU will become a member of the Hot Dog Hall of Fame. Eat 20 chili dogs in the four-hour time period and the dogs are on us.

Parlour in Jackson Michigan

It is an ice cream location and their challenge is titled "Dare to be Great"

For this challenge you are given 21 softball sized scoops of ice cream topped with strawberries, chocolate, pineapple, and marshmallow toppings, chopped nuts, whipped cream, and cherries to be finished in 1 hour.

They have a Wall of Fame for those complete the challenge.

There is also Tony's Diner in Birch Run, but they do not have a challenge, just mammoth portions.

One place to definitely check out is Krazy Jim's Blimpy Burger in Ann Arbor, MI. They are known for being able to customize the number of patties on a hamburger, 10 patties per pound (so a half pound burger is 5 patties or a "quint"). The current record is 43 patties. Not to mention their burgers, onion rings, and fried veggies are the best in the state, no questions asked.

In nearby Ypsilanti, MI, the Bomber Restaruant is known for its "Bomber Breakfast," which has been featured on Food Network's Top Five. The breakfast is 4 eggs, 4 pieces of toast, a pound of breakfast potatoes, and a pound of breakfast meat.

I also agree with The Parlour Ice Cream in Jackson, MI. The "Dare to be Great" is absolutely insane - 21 huge scoops of ice cream in 1 hour.

Any one of 3 coney islands in downtown Detroit. City-wide renowned American coney island on the corner of Michigan Ave, Griswald and Lafayette (michigan goes on an angle so there's a point instead of a right angle).

The other is the Lafayette coney island literally next door to the first one mentioned. I've heard, and gotten into which is better between Lafayette and American.

The third which is in my opinion the best is Duly's Place located on Verner and Junction in the west end of Mexicantown. It's the most humble place in the world, cheap, small, and amazing.

Please come to Detroit. If you can go to St. Louis you can go to the D.

In Kalamazoo, Michigan there are three restaurants that are sure to be brutal.

First, you have Big Burrito. The name says it all, with their trademark being the "Don't Even Think About It" burrito. As the staffs' shirt say: "17 Inches of Pleasure"

Second is The Parlour, with a location in Jackson as well. As mentioned in previous posts, they offer the "21 Scoop" challenge and so far at the Kalamazoo location, there are no successes.

Third there is Erbelli's Pizza and Italian Cuisine. For five years running they have won best gourmet pizza in local competitions with unique original pizza's that are mouth-watering and massive. Up to 16" pies with as many as 6 toppings!

I would love to Adam challenge chili dog record at The Corner Bar in Rockford, MI. This family resturant and local hangout has established a great tradition over the years with their hall of fame. A great recommended warm up could be the Fifth Third Burger challenge, just a few miles away at the home of the Detroit Tigers minor league affiliate West Michigan Whitecaps. The introduction of this burger for the 2009 season has made national news.

Both The Corner Bar and the West Michigan Whitecaps have websites to take a look at.

B & C Pizza is the best pizza in the mid west. Not to be confused with B.C. Pizza, the B & C pizza located in Bay City, MI has a challenge that if you eat the full 7 pound Chicago style pizza you receive your picture on the wall of fame and bragging rights. Usually 2 slices of this pizza fills the heartiest of stomachs. Since the 80's only a small handful of people have conquered this pizza feat. I doubt Mr. Adam could even defeat the
B & C pizza.

Adam, I've seen you do many challenges, winning some and losing some. Most of those challenges were to pass a certain standard, but the Corner Bar in Rockford gives you a chance to SET your own standard. The record of hot dogs eaten in a 4 hour period is 43 1/2, set by Tim Janus of the IFOCE, beating out legends such as Joey Chestnut and Patrick Betoletti. Not only is this challenge a fabled tradition, but the other food on the menu is excellent as well. So come up to Michigan, Adam, and see if you got what it takes to be mentioned among the greats.

It was just announced on local TV Adam will be taking on the Fifth Third Burger on July 15th. To add to the story, more local attractions would be Rosie's Diner (50's decor and diner food) and Corner Bar in Rockford, MI. He could join their Hot Dog Hall of Fame!
