Please post your food challenge suggestions here for this state. If you have photos and video of the location, please upload them on our What's Your Trip site.
Here are some past posts about locations in this state: The Heart Attack Grill, Chandler Originally posted by: scouter7603 The Heart Attack Grill at 6185 W Chandler Blvd. in Chandler, AZ has a burger that is estimated to be 8,000 calories called the Quadruple Bypass Burger. Only few people have actually finished the entire burger. The fastest time that anyone has ever eaten a Quadruple Bypass Burger is only 3 minutes and 47 seconds! I would love to see you take this burger on. Crazy Otto's, Phoenix Originally posted by: renfaire31 While Crazy Otto's originated and has several locations in CA, I go to the one at 35th Ave. and Greenway Rd. in Phoenix. If you leave there hungry, then you just had toast. They also serve dinner plate-sized pancakes like the Stepping Stone Cafe, and 6 egg omelets (I order the half omelet - only 3 eggs). The smallest burger is 1/2 lb.! They have some dishes you won't find at many other diners like Scotty's Chili Cheese Dog Omelet made with diced hot dogs, chili & choice of cheese. They also have a dish called the Hobo. They pile your plate HIGH with scrambled eggs, hash brows, onions, bell peppers, tomatoes, & mushrooms. Ham, bacon, or sausage is a little extra. I don't know if you get a t-shirt or something for finishing it, but the really friendly staff told me they've yet to see anyone finish it yet! You up for it Adam? San Felipes Cantina, Tempe Originally posted by: milkman Contact Tim at 480.736.8226 [taco] about a burrito that cannot be eaten in one sitting. Tell him the Milkman sent you. This is a great college bar, next to Arizona State University. Great history, and even better food. www.sanfelipescantina.com A 4-5 pound, might be 9 pounds Burrito. Lindy's, Tucson Originally posted by: Andytheg For your food challenge, you can head to Lindy's on 4th. They have two big burger challenges that I'm sure you would love. Not only do they serve burgers and fries, they serve tater tots smothered in Frank's Red Hot sauce. |

Venezia's Pizzeria in Tempe arizona has a huge 24" Party Pizza challenge, where 2 people have to finish the whole pizza in one hour. We have had a huge turnout for this event. about 70 have accomplished the task and get a free shirt "we took down the big one" and a picture on the bulletin board in the store. We have had about 150 people fail. only 1 person tried to do the challenge on there own but did not make it. Can Man vs. Food be the 1st. please go to venezias.com to check out the website. if interested please email back from my login info.

Four Bees Cafe
34490 S Old Black Canyon Hwy Black Canyon City, AZ 85324 (623) 374-5736 They say the legend of the Four Bee's Cafe started over 20 years ago when world renowned commentator, Paul Harvey, declared that they have the world's largest pancakes and best cup of coffee. They offer a 10 pancake challenge that would be perfect for Adam. This place has great food but is a hole in the wall. It's about 20 miles or so north of Phoenix on I17 in Black Canyon City and I highly recommend it! |

At the Fairmont Princess Resort in Scottsdale, there is a restaurant called Bourbon Steak where they make a 2 pound lobster pot pie served right in the pot it was cooked in. There's a whole Maine lobster tail in tact inside the pot pie as well as the claws and other parts of the lobster. I don't think there's any formal challenge or award for eating it, however it's incredibly delicious and definitely worth checking out.

Mi Nidito, 1813 S. Fourth Ave., 520-622-5081, minidito.net. The brick-lined space, with its serape- striped upholstery and is kind of dark, but the booths are nice and private, the staff is friendly, and the food is cheap, delicious and hugely portioned. You can't go wrong with the spicy shredded beef. The "President's Plate," by the way, refers to Bill Clinton, who loves the place. Closed Monday, Tuesday.
---Not sure if this is acceptable for your food challenge, but the portions are HUGE, Adam. There's also a place in Tucson called "Nimbus" that has the largest plate of nachos I've ever seen. It's named after the monkey decor as well, not clouds, in case you were wondering. Don't forget that U of A is in Tucson - GO WILDCATS!!! |

Cooperstown, in down town Phoenix has a 22 inch hotdog called "The Big Unit" named after Arizona Diamondbacks pitcher Randy Johnson, comes with the option to add chili and cheese or just ketchup and mustard, also comes with two sides. Anthony Bourdain couldn't even finish this monster!! There is also a good chance you'll get a food item named after you since that seems to be their menu theme.

Here's a spot - Zeke's Eatn' Place in Prescott or Prescott Valley AZ. They have a challange to eat 3 'wheel' pancakes in one half hour! I did it about 10 years ago but don't think I could do it again. I'd like to see Adam do it -He gets a free T shirt if he does.

In Tucson, there is a sub sandwich shop called Silver Mine Subs and they have a pretty good food challenge! If you can eat a whole "Mother Lode" sandwich, they give you a tee shirt! The sandwich is 16" long, and comes with roast beef, turkey breast, ham, salami, provolone, lettuce, tomato, onion, oil, vinegar, oregano, and mayo.

The first post mentioning Crazy Ottos is completely true, especially about the Hobo eggs. I ordered the Hobo about 2 weeks ago and had no idea what I was getting myself into. It was massive. This is definitely a dish for Adam to try and overpower.
