Hello!
I actually work at the Ben and Jerry's Factory in Waterbury where the Vermonster is served. I definitely would like to suggest that you come to eat a Vermonster. The average weight of the sundae is actually 7 pounds. Some of my friends and I tried to eat this sundae, and 8 or 9 of us barely finished it. It is quite the feat, and I would really like to see if you could do this!

Candeleros in Manchester VT has a meal called "Dinner For 2" it is 1/2 Rack of Ribs, 1/2 Chicken, and either brisket or Pulled pork on Texas Toast. It also comes with 2 scoops of beans and 2 scoops of coleslaw. All with the Spicy bbq sauce makes this one tough challenge.

I recently attempted a challenge. Big Fatty's BBQ in Burlington, Vermont. The challenge is a 1.5 lb pulled pork sandwich, with a 1 lb side of fries. Eat it in under an hour and it's on the house. Plus you get your picture on the Big Fatty's wall of fame. I came close about a half pound left on the plate and I gave up. Not for the faint of heart. Try it....if you dare

I have to reccommend the Vermonster from B&J. I've seen a team of 3 attempt that one and achieve only spectacular failure...I'm sure it was delicious, but it was still just too much ice cream!!! Also, VT Sandwich Co. has some absolutley massive sandwiches that are all out of this world.

My son, Ezra, thinks the Vermonster is the ultimate Vermont challenge! Adam when you come to visit don't forget the Blue Benn Diner in Bennington Vermont. You may have to wait in line on Saturday morning but you won't regret it. An old silver rairoad car diner with great mac and cheese, berry buckwheat pancakes (don't foget the real Vermont maple syrup) and the unique vegetarian delight- "the mushrooben"!!!!

Foliage is over but the snow is on its way- get here quick and get here hungry!

As everyone else has suggested, I would highly recommend attempting the Vermonster from Ben & Jerry's but do it in Burlington, where the also is a huge variety of great local restaurants!

Btw, Vermonster can be found downtown on Church St. in Burlington. I know because I ordered one there and could barely finish it with 4 other friends and we all had empty stomachs before hand!

I think Adam should eat at The Pittsfield Original General Store in Pittsfield vermont... I know some would that try to do it with him... it is called the Green Mountain Feast. It has 8 Pancakes, 6 Eggs, Home Fries, 6 pieces of Bacon, and two orders of toast in under 30 mins.. I really think he should come and try it i don't think he could do it... and the person i know that would try it is ready and time you he is challenging you to do it with him...

Perry's Restaurant - Poultney Vermont

For a small college town in western Vermont Perry's burgers pack quite a punch. Quite possibly the best burger I have ever eaten. The Tank Burger is 12 oz of fresh sirloin dripping with Vermont Cheddar and Bacon. Every potato served is grown on Perry's farm nearby. As a fan of the show, this burger wouldn't satisfy the highlight challenge but would certainly make a great warm up meal for Adam.

There is also the Snack Shack in Barre, Vermont - they have a Cassie Dog - includes so much food...I can't even recall all ingredients - but if you eat 2, I believe you get a 3rd free - they are only open during the summer months. It is a family owned drive-in style restaurant where the names on the menu are family and friends. If you take the Cassie Dare Dog Challenge and win, you get your name posted. This is a local family with outgoing, hilariously funny personalities who can promise you a good time - and of course, we can't forget the Vermonster - TAKE ON THE CHALLENGE!
