The Garbage Plate - Nick Tahou's in Rochester, NY
"We start with a base of any combination of home fries, macaroni salad, baked beans, or french fries topped by your choice of meats and dressed to your liking with spicy mustard, chopped onions, and Nick Tahou's signature hot sauce. Each plate comes with two thick slices of fresh italian bread and butter." Think you could handle it? I fast for a whole day before even attempting it. |

Adam-
Love the show!!!! Between Man V. Food, Bizarre Foods, & No Reservations the Travel Channel has the best thing going. My recommendation to you is the Thruway I-90 Challenge... BUFFALO: Head to Duff’s for the best and hottest wings you can imagine, wash it down with a beef on weck and a gallon of Logan Berry ROCHESTER: Get over to Nick Tahou’s and slop down a Garbage Plate; the best drunk food in the country! I recommend a few Genny Light’s before. SYRACUSE: Go to the original Dinosaur BBQ and take in a full rack of ribs. This will make for an excellent 30 minute episode. |

You should take a trip to beautful upstate New York to Norwich NY. In Norwich, you will a local steak house called "Gus' Steak House." Gus' is home of the 80 oz. If you can eat the entire steak, it's free. Their steaks are made with delicious seasonings, juicy and full of flavor. Their is hardly any fat on them! You should venture to this remote, area of New York to find one of it's hidden, yet well-known restuarant, that very few people can achieve this challenge. Can you handle it Adam? Prove the locals what your made of!

I know you love BBQ. Up here in NY a new restaurant which had employed me for the year shocked and stunned me each day as I worked the Host stand. We would reach close to a 2 1/2 to 3 hour wait on weekends.
The food portions are massive and made with that true southern slow cooked soul. There is even roughly a foot tall "Hay stack" of fried onions as an appetizer. They have three styles of ribs, baby back, St. Louis Grand Back, and the Monster Beef Bone which shocks and aws everyone. The best part, is you can combined these ribs in a one order deal. The menu is something just worth a look. Take a look at the food for yourself http://www.smokinals.com/. Come over to the new massapequa location. My time working there was as comforting as family and I'd love to sit down and eat with you. |

On MacDougal Street in Manhattan, there is a sushi spot that challenges customers to eat more sushi than the person before him/her. If you complete the challenge, you don't have to pay for it, but if you fail to beat the person before you, you have to pay for each piece. I believe the last record set (for guys) was 51 pieces. I dare Adam to try and beat that! |

I think Adam should give the prime rib at Conesus Inn a try! It is located in Lakeville, NY. They have a 72oz cut that is so tender you can break it apart with your fork. The taste is incredible and the service excellant! And if the 72oz is not enough you can have crab legs or lobster tails added, both of which are huge in size.

I think Man v. Food should go to Ithaca, NY. Not only are there a lot of great restaurants, it's a unique town with two universities (Cornell & Ithaca College) and located in the beautiful Finger Lakes region of upstate New York. My recommendations for Adam's trip to Ithaca are:
- Purity Ice Cream (purityicecream.com). It's been an ice cream tradition in Ithaca since 1936. - Moosewood Restaurant (moosewoodrestaurant.com). It focuses on natural foods and vegetarian cooking. The restaurant has published several cookbooks as well. - Glenwood Pines (glenwoodpines.com). Started in a small cinder block building just after World War II to sell dairy products and homemade ice cream, the restaurant now is full service and offers the famous Pinesburger. The food challenge here is the 4 Pinesburger Challenge - eat 4 six oz. Pinesburgers in one hour and get a t-shirt and your photo on the Wall of Fame. Ithaca is a great place and I think the scenery, culture and restaurant options would make for a good episode of Man v. Food. |

Hi, I think Adam should visit The Original John's Deli at 2033 Stilwell Ave in Brooklyn, NY. They have been making the the best hot roast beef sandwiches in NYC for over 40 years. The combination of their roast beef, melted mozzarella, cooked onions and their world famous brown gravy is out of this world. They really do make the best heroes in brooklyn.

Adam,
You need to come to Utica, Ny and have chicken riggies! They are a Utica creation and are well known in the area. Bella Mia in North Utica is one of my favorite places to go. The portion is enormous and they even have started taking pictures of people who finish the plates in one sitting. There are many places to get riggies all around Utica. You need to come when we have Riggie Fest!!!!! |
