Grand Forks has some great spots.
The Parrots Cay has hot wings that are the best in town, with heat ranging from weak to crazy hot and a challenge to make anything on man v. food look like childs play. If Adam is more in the mood for a ton of food then Slapshot Pizza has a gigantic pie that he would love. Many more hole-in-the-wall places with great food as well, like Rhombus Guys and Speedway, come on up to the tundra, Adam! |

If you're looking for a good steak, Georgia's and The Owl in the little town of Amidon, ND is one of the best places in western ND for a steak. The front half of the restaurant is just a bar but the back room is classically decorated. When trying to find it, don't blink, or you'll miss the town!

Hey Adam
Grand Forks has The Parrots Cay, A quiet little bar with a cook who must have been born somewhere in the pits of hell. The Bar serves great mix of foods, they hit a home run with their Cajun Food everything from Frog legs, Gumbo to a KILLER JABALAYA in Northern North Dakota. All their food has great flavor and large portions. But, here’s where it gets fun, you have a few option in HOT foods, Wings, Pasta and Jabalaya that range from 1 to 15 on the hot scale. You can also join the 15er Club and you get a free T-shirt, your picture on the wall and half off what you just ate. The catch being you have to finish all your level 15 food and then as a reward for your mouth they give you a Icecream sandwich to cool down with. The wings are hot but not a lot of food, the pasta and Jabalaya are where the big challege come in because the portions are just huge and hard to finish. I’ve watched your show and this place is right up your alley, beside no one ever comes to North Dakota. Thank, John Parrot's Cay Tavern & Grill (701) 795-4053 1149 36th Ave S, Grand Forks, ND 58201 |

I agree that he should check out GF, but for his actual challenge he should go to Mr and Mrs J's in Devils Lake, ND right off of Highway 2. The have the pig-out omelet breakfast challenge, which is a giant 12 egg omelet with everything added, plus hashbrowns and toast, I think that is everything, and if you eat it within the hour you get your meal free.

I can't believe I almost forgot to mention the original Red Pepper in Grand Forks and their world famous grinder's with the secret sauce. He would have to go there and check that out. They could even talk about the grinder kits that they sell to go.
addresses: Mr. J and Mrs. J's 318 Hwy 2 E Devils Lake, ND 58301 The Original Red Pepper 1011 University Ave. 701-775-9671 website: www.redpepper.com |

I agree Grand Forks is a must visit for Adam. And the Parrot's Cay is where the challange is at. He has to come and take on the 15 Wing Challange and get his picture on the wall, t-shirt, and ice cream bar. These are hands down the best wings I have ever tried. I haven't taken the challenge yet, but next time I am there I think I am going to step up to the plate and go for it. Besides great wings, the Cay features Cajun food. I am pretty sure you can't find this cusine elsewhere in GF, let alone ND.
As for other places to visit: Red Pepper (a true GF legend) Speedway Al's Grill Toasted Frog Rhombus Guys Pizza Grand Forks, and North Dakota really need to be recognized for something more then flooding (GF and Fargo on national news), or UND students "rioting" in University Park (also made headline news on CNN). So Adam, please come visit our lovely city. |
