Please post your food challenge suggestions here for this state. If you have photos and video of the location, please upload them on our What's Your Trip site.

Here are some past posts about locations in this state:

The Dairy Barn, Birdseye

Eddie's Sandwich Shop, Brazil
Originally posted by: coreyballen
Eddies is a very small diner in Brazil IN. Their "claim to fame" would have to be their Eddie Burgers. They are White Castle like burgers, but made with real beef and a "hunk" of Velveeta cheese. You also get pickles and diced onions on the side to add to your liking.
Now as for the competition, If you claim that you are going to attempt to get on the "wall of fame" you must eat 20 Eddie Burgers. There is no time limit but you aren't allowed to leave the restaurant and if you get sick you must go outside. If you complete this, you get your picture taken and put on the "wall of fame". If you fall short, your picture gets put on the "wall of shame". Now if you would like to go after the record, the same rules apply. (I think the last time I was in there the record was 33 and a half) But if you get the record you get $50.00, your meal paid for and a T-Shirt.

Big Ugly Burger, Carmel

That doesn’t count the bun and toppings and a side of fries! Finish the whole burger and get your picture on the wall! Become a local legend. I did it and my picture is on the wall. Will your picture be on the wall?

Major's Sports Cafe, Indianapolis

Major's Macho Nachos is over two feet in diameter and the chips are piled up so high Hulk Hogan would need help finishing it.
- The Colossal Burger! "A behemoth of a burger. A full pound of ground beef cooked on a flat top, loaded with cheddar cheese, lettuce, tomato and onion make this burger TWO FULL POUNDS! Eat it all, eat it alone (don’t throw the bun under the table, people!!!) and collect your bragging rights!"

Barlo's Pizza, Indianapolis

La Familia di Jeshua, Terre Haute

In Terre Haute, IN, La familia di Jeshua's offers amazing gourmet pizza. They have more than just pizza.. featuring calzones, hippie rolls, amazing desserts, spaghetti, stromboli, and (my favorite) lasagna rolls.
Their challenge is a 28-inch pizza, with two meat toppings (no veggies required), weighing over 10 lbs, named "The Don". You and a friend must complete it in an hour to enjoy the pizza for free.. along with $100 bucks cash. No one, I mean, no one, has been able to take on "The Don" and finish on top.
I've seen a lot of pizza eating competitions, but this is THE one to beat!

I know you have heard of the fried pork tenderloin, but this one they call the hub cap! It needs two buns and most people split it! Please come see us! We love the show! It's a small town place with nothing but regulars...great interviews i'm sure!!! Thanks...

If you are looking for the best hot wings in Indiana, then you must come to Fort Wayne and have a ball a Peanuts Food&Spirit. They have some of the hottest wings in the city. Ranging from mild to the infamous A/D(A$@ Destroyers). I watch your show all the time and enjoy when u try the hottest of the hot. I'm pretty sure they will not let you down.

I would like to challenge Adam to take the "Wall Challenge" at Wings Etc. in Avon, Indiana. It's 16 jumbo wings buffalo style in our homemade habanaro hot sauce. Adam would have a half hour to do the challenge but can not eat or drink anything during the challenge. I know there are dozens of resturants that have their own hot sauces and challenges, but our little "wing joint" has great customers and employees that come together to create and awsome atmosphere. So send Adam over to eat some wings and have a beer! I'd be happy to serve him and everyone else with the crew. Thank you.

Adam,
You should check out King David Dogs in downtown Indianapolis. They have their own signature 1/4 lb. all beef hot dog that is truly "An Indy Original." Their hot dog is from a family recepie that was created and produced in Indy. You can read all about it at www.kingdaviddogs.com. Best hot dog that you've ever had!

Adam:
Bonge's tavern in tiny (blink your eyes and you've missed it) Perkinsville, Indiana (about 1 hour north of Indianapolis) should be your next stop. Bonge's has been a tavern for nearly 100 years. It's rumored that Dillinger and other "bad guys" stopped at Bonge's during the gangster era.

It was known as local bar and dive for many years... where folks would drink, play billiards and enjoy the "Bonge Funk".

Bonge's Tavern was eventually purchased by Chef Tony (like you someone who's worked in the food industry and developed his own style and reverence for food). Bonge's Tavern features unique and signature dishes... like Perkinsville Pork (a parmisan encrusted pounded pork cutlet) or applewood smoked prime rib (Friday/Saturday only).

The rest of the menu varies with ingredients available and Chef Tony's interests. He always offers fowl, fish, and meat dishes that are to die for... Harger duck stuffed with spicy cheese, blue cheese steak au poirve, elk medallions with chantrelle mushrooms.... Bonge's chalk board changes often.

He uses interesting and seasonal items when available such as fresh sauteed morel mushrooms or sauteed fiddle head ferns.

Bonge's Tavern does not advertise and takes no reservations under 10 diners--and then they won't seat the party until all diners are present.

In good weather, people come and "tail gate" in their parking lot, often drinking beer or wine or playing cards until their names are called to dine.

Bonge's Tavern is small and the wait staff welcoming and knowledgeable. Entrees include choice of soup or lettuce wedge (home-made blue cheese dressing is the best), house vegetable and starch.

The quality of the food, atmosphere, and price make Bonge's my choice for special outings--far surpassing well known chains such as Ruth Chris or similar venue.

Bloomington, Indiana, the home of the Hurrying Hoosiers and Indiana University, was recently named the 7th fastest growing wine and culinary destination in the country by Orbitz Travel Research, so you might wanna take a peek at our wee over-educated redneck town. There are a large number of great restaurants and bars that offer a nice slice of Midwestern Americana. Dave Tallent of Restaurant Tallent was a semi-finalist for a 2009 James Beard "Best Chef" Award in the Great Lakes region. Nick's English Hut is an old school, big traditional college bar that President Obama wandered through not too long ago that's been here since the dinosaurs and has a killer stromboli sandwich. Janko's Little Zagreb is another institution with some of the best steaks you'll ever have in about the tackiest room you could imagine.

But the real challenge for you though, Mr. Man Versus Food Richman, is The I Dare Ya Challenge at The Dunn Inn. The Dunn Inn is a newer, funky lil beer and wine pub in town with good food, wines, and great beers, a bad attitude and a ton of fun. Now I'm not biased or anything, but I happen to know that the owner, who thinks he's Franklin Delano Roosevelt, is a pretty interesting guy, when he's sober and really fun, when he ain't. IDareYa to check it out. Peace.

Indianapolis is home to some great food, including amazing BBQ, Thai cuisine and the HOTTEST wings I've had in 16 states. I'll treat you to the best rack of hardwood smoked (pear, cherry, hickory) ribs you've EVER had(cooked by a Californian that made his home here 10 years ago), the most amazing green curry you'll find in the US and we'll end up at WINGS ETC. to watch you tackle the WALL OF FLAME challenge. 16 jumbo, juicy wings doused in a buffalo habenero sauce. Not only is the sauce ungodly hot, it is actually delicious!! It's a good thing the 32oz beers are ICE COLD! It will be a blast.

as many responses as this topic has gotten already, i didn't see one mention of ZIFFLES RIBS in fort wayne, indiana.

they've been open for over ten years, and are known as the town's best ribs.

you will be hard pressed to find ribs better than these anywhere else.

the dad of a friend of mine occasionally travels all over the country for his job. every time he goes out and eats in a new city or a new state, he gets orders ribs.

out of all of the places he has been to across the country, he said ZIFFLES has the best.

their prices are dirt cheap, and their food is top notch. get their half-rib basket (which comes with fries and garlic toast) and a couple of Pabst and you will not spend more than twenty bucks with tip included.

I am an employee at Bub's Burgers and Ice Cream located in Carmel, Indiana, and I can't even count anymore how many people have suggested that Man vs. Food comes to Bub's to eat the Big Ugly Burger, our one-pound patty, half-pound bun burger we are famous for. If eaten, the customer's picture is taken and put on the wall. A few people have eaten two, and two guys have even eaten three! They really are the best burgers in central Indy. Also, Bub's Cafe (just down the road, owned by the same owner), is known for the Big Stack, a stack of an impressive 12 pancakes that are as big as the plate they are served on. Only two people have ever finished the Big Stack. I challenge Adam to the Ultimate Bub's Challenge, eating not only the Big Ugly, but also the Big Stack...all in one day! Hope to see you soon!

If you really want to try some different foods all in one spot, come to Evansville during the first full week of October. The West Side Nut Club Fall Festival is the second largest street festival in the nation (behind Mardi Gras) and features exotic items such as brain sandwiches, ostrich burgers, and fried alligator, along with standard street festival fare. The proceeds all go to non-profit organizations from around Evansville. Check it out at nutclub.org.
