Pizza by the Pound, Paducah Originally posted by: katpember I have a challenge here in Paducah KY. It is called Pizza by the Pound. They have an 8-pound pizza and if you can eat it in an hour by yourself you get 100 dollars and the pizza for free.
Ginny's dinner is definitely a place to visit, but the Sweet Daddy burger is nothing compared to Chubby Ray's Fat Teddy burger. It's a couple pounds larger than the Sweet Daddy! But Ginny's is iconic.
If Louisville is ever visited, Wick's or Spinellis pizza is a must. Spinellis has a wall mural of a nude burt reynolds on a bear skin rug. Haha! But I like Wick's pizza better...
Nice how Chubby Ray's has a picture of Eric "Badlands" Booker attempting one of Denny's Beer Barrel Pub's (Pennsylvania) monster burgers on their challenge page. Wouldn't you want a picture of YOUR OWN burger?
In Latonia Kentucky there is a place called Bard's Burgers. They serve something called a "ripper"...its a bacon wrapped deep fried hot dog. They also serve a creation called a "Bardzilla", it is a 10 pattie creation that is out of this world.
PLEASE come to Pizza by the Pound in Paducah, KY! This is the greatest pizza in the midwest! Plus, if you eat the 8 lb. pizza in one hour, you get $100! You can do it!

I would like to also recommend the best pizza restaurant anywhere, 'Pizza By The Pound' in Paducah, KY. The 8 pound pizza challange would be great to see on Man vs. Food. Their pizza is scrumptious and HUGE! Check it out!
In Louisville Ky, for over 30 years Bearno's Pizza has put out the Citys Best Pizza. Pizza Hut and Papa John's Headquarters are located here and yet Bearno's is voted the Best Pizza in the city. I have worked for Bearno's for over 15 years, starting out has a buss boy washing tables and dishes and worked my up the chain. I have traveled to many different U.S citiies in the region to open up other Bearno's locations even to China. Bearno's has a 12 pound pizza with 15 different ingredints called the Super Mama Bearno's Special.
In bowling green kentucky there's a place called Griff's Deli; they have a baked potato called the bomber. It consists of baked potatoes covered in 2 1/2 pounds of chicken, bacon, cheese, onions, tomatoes, jalapenos, sour cream, and butter which makes the whole thing 6 pounds. You get a shirt and your picture on the wall if you can finish the whole thing which many people have not done.
No visit to Kentucky is complete without a visit to Moonlite Bar-B-Q in Owensboro, KY. All you can eat Bar-B-Q plus all the sides and desserts you can ask for, need I say more??
