Re: Man Vs. Food - Idea for an episode.
Adam,
Are you ready for a challenge? Groton, Connecticut, a little City on the East Bank of the Thames River, home of the “Submarine Capitol of the World”, and General Dynamics Electric Boat Division. In celebration of the rich nautical/submarine heritage and to foster the relationship between Lenny’s Pizza & Grille, the Naval Submarine Base, and E.B. We present the “Ballistic *Screw” challenge.

The “Ballistic Screw” is a three bladed calzone filled with Lenny’s own mouth scorching, tongue searing, lip broiling ingredients.
Finish the “Ballistic Screw” and a side of “Torpedoes and Cruise Missiles”, under 30 minutes and your picture is placed on the “wall of Honor”, you get a Tee-shirt that reads: “I got screwed at Lenny’s”, and the meal is free. Fail, your name gets Dry docked, where you will live in shame. To add insult to injury, you have to pay for your meal.
*Screw- A nautical colloquialism for the propeller of a ship or submarine.

The Screw comes in other varieties, too. You can choose from a list of other fillings to build your screw. The choices include, but are not limited to, “The Ballistic, The U.S.S. Philly, The Shore Leave, and The Master Chief”, to name a few. You can have all three blades of the same variety or build your own. If you are not in the mood for a screw, maybe a side of Torpedoes or Cruise Missiles will do the job. (Torpedoes - Mozzarella cheese sticks with Marinara sauce, Cruise Missiles - Jalapeño poppers topped with Lenny’s own nuclear green hot sauce.)

Either way, the folks here at Lenny’s Pizza & Grille invite you over and ask: “Can you handle it?”

Thank you for your time and consideration.

Come to Sliders! Locations are in Plantsville, Plainville, and Berlin. There's 2 different competitions going on..
- The Hall of Famer, the extra-large burger (picture on website) that you must eat within 45 mins - and in doing so will get you the burger for free, picture on the wall of fame and a free t-shirt.
- The Deadly Dozen, 12 wings smothered with the most imaginable hot sauce ever. 30 mins to finish and the same results if you finish.

Adam, I don't think you've got what it takes - unless you come to CT and try it for yourself.

Adam ~ You should check out Danbury. No only do they have a wide variety of cuisines in a square mile radius...but they have the best Mexican Restaurant--Pancho's Tacos--where you can get the hottest, most flavorful Enchiladas a la Diablo which is on par with the heat of the P'hall at Bricklane. I met the p'hall challenge, but go to Pancho's for my heat fix quite often. There are other great places to eat in Danbury like Baba Ganouj--just down the street from Pancho's where I get my falafal fix..Cate

Casa Mariachi Restaurant and Bar, Putnam

This is a Mexican restaurant with big flavor. The food challenge here is to eat a five pound burrito. Along with this challenge there is a menu jam packed with dilicious entrees and apetizers. It is muy bueno.
