Anybody think they really got steel in their stomach come try em. I mix the sauce myself and ill sit across from you and eat them,

Carol's Restaurant, Conrad

Adam please consider coming to my cousin's restaurant in Conrad, Iowa. They have 2 fantastic choices for Man vs. Food. 1st is the Ultimate Tenderloin. Which is a huge homemade tenderloin and homemade bun that is the size of a dinner plate. Record is 2 tenderloins eaten. 2nd is the Breakfast Legend. Which has to be completed in a half an hour or less. It contains 3 platter-sized pancakes a 1/2 order of biscuits and gravy, a 3-egg omelet and hash browns. This is a small little family owned restaurant that makes everything from scratch.
Thank you

Jethro's BBQ. Des Moines

I dare you to try to eat this burger. This burger is located in downtown Des Moines off the campus of Drake University. The place is called Jethro's BBQ. There is no way you can fit you mouth around this massive burger. This burger is called the Adam Emmenecker. This burger was named after Drake's Missouri Valley Conference MVP of 2008. Start with a huge tenderloin, add an Angus steak burger, top it with a slab of Texas brisket and apple wood bacon, finish it with buffalo chicken tender, smother this mountain with melted cheddar cheese, and white cheddar sauce, serve it with your choice of side. This could burger could hurt you.

Corigliano's Pizza, Des Moines

I recently visited Corigliano's Pizza in downtown Des Moines Iowa. I had heard they have a GIANT slice of pizza, and some really amazing Italian sandwiches. I ordered 1 slice of pizza and it was AMAZING. My guess is it's about 18" long and 10" wide, at the top. Then I ordered a cappacola sandwich, just to try it, and OMG it was AMAZING too. I then proceeded to talk the owner into a food eating challenge. I told him next time I return I wanted to win a shirt he had at the restaurant and get my picture on the wall, a common theme among Man vs. Food challenges. We then discussed options on how I could win the shirt and picture. We ended up with: 1 - giant slice of pizza, 1 - cappacola sandwich, 1 - meatball sandwich, and 1 - sausage sandwich. If I finish it I would get my food for free, a Made in Italy t-shirt, and my picture on the wall. I'm not too sure I could endure the pain of this task, but I think it would be a great challenge for Man vs. Food. Will you please visit Corigliano's in downtown Des Moines? If you choose to, I would love to try the challenge with you!

There is a place on I-29 and Highway 2 that has a 9 pound breakfast. It is at a Sapp Brothers. My family went there to see it and there is like 2 pounds of cheese, 2 pounds of hashbrowns, and like a dozen eggs and meat and toast and a large coffee and orange juice. You have to eat this 9 pound breakfast in an hour otherwise its 45 dollars! If Adam could eat this it would be a miracle!

Below is the Jethros description for the Adam Emmenecker sandwich described above. This thing is HUGE. No way you can fit this thing in your mouth without preparation. And believe me, it can hurt you...

The Adam Emmenecker

The Missouri Valley Conference most valuable Player of 2008 loves this sandwich. It's big.. "really big".. just like all those really big shots Adam in the Bulldog's magical MVC Championship Season of 2008. Start with our huge tenderloin, add our Angus steak burger, top it with a slab of Texas brisket and apple wood bacon, finish it with buffalo chicken tender, smother this mountain with melted cheddar cheese, and white cheddar sauce, serve it with your favorite choice of side. This could hurt you! A sandwich fit for the

There are many other great locations like the original panchero's and whitey's ice creams!!!

The Screaming Eagle in Waterloo, Iowa has a food challenge that is 3 of their 9630 burgers (named after the John Deere Tractor which is made in Waterloo). Onion rings and a salad. If you can eat it in 45 mins you get your picture posted on their wall of the many people that have tried it only one person has been able to complete the mammoth challenge. Waterloo has a lot of other great local eateries as well like Morg's and Steamboat Gardens. It would be awesome to see Adam in Iowa.

When you are in Iowa City you should try Oasis Falafel. As a Brooklyn native you probably had lots of opportunities to have falafel, but this place has the best falafel ever.
Check it out on www.oasisfalafel.com
