OMG!! I've been watching your travels on Discovery Channel since I've been told about it and saw you hang gliding in Rio. You must have loved your instructor, Paolo...That was who my instructor was when I went at that place. WOW! What a small world!! I was soooo excited to see you gliding with my instructor exactly where I went in 2000. Did you see the lady on that beach you landed on selling fresh steamed buttered corn on the cob? A big group of us went and I ate 2 ears of corn watching the others land on the beach. So fun!! I look forward to seeing where else you've gone. I see in you two how breathtaking and awe inspiring each new place is, as it was for me seeing the places for my first time. You think you've seen/done the most incredible thing in the world, and then when you get to the next place, it's just as wonderful. Keep on living life!
Paolo was the best. Clearly Melanie was a little concerned about hang gliding, and we weren't sure if she would even do it. But if it wasn't for Paolo's calm confidence, I don't think she would have done it. Thank goodness too because that was one of the highlights of the trip. I don't remember too much about the folks on the beach because we had to leave pretty quickly. But I did find time to grab a coconut chopped open with a straw in it! Good stuff! It was an exciting, trip and you're right. Each time we thought we had found our favorite place, we went somewhere else and that changed. Thanks for watching, I'm glad you like 1,000 Places.
I just went to the Ulle's photo journals and couldn't get further than the first picture. The caption reads (and this is a cut-and-paste, I did not edit it in any way):
"If you're afraid of heights, like me, it (walking to the summit on the Sydney Harbor Bridge) is pretty expensive way to see the city."
Excuse me, but what about Albin's fear of heights makes this expensive? Seems like a non sequitur to me...
