The review of Ocean City, NJ, beaches by Jennifer Plum Auvil was right on target. However, some of her data on places to stay and eat is way out of date..by at least a year or more.

For example, her top choice for Bed and Breakfast is the New Brighton Inn ...which unfortunately, ceased operating as an Inn for some time. There are many great B&B's and Inns currently open including: The Atlantis, Browns, Northwood, and Scarborough as well as many more wonderful establishments.

June cited The Blue Planet Diner as the "Best Diner in Town". It had been closed for some time and changed hands. It is now open under the name, "Hot Bagels and More". Ocean City has many great restaurants including: Cousins, 701 Mosaic, Island Grill, Scully's, Sindia, Chatterbox, Pink Parrot Grill, Randazzo's, Arlene's, Periwinkles and on and on.

You don't have to leave town and drive 30 minutes or more, as June suggests, for great ice cream. Johnnie B. Goode and TJ's are great in-town stops for ice cream as well as Kohr Bros on the boardwalk.

Ocean City, America's Greatest Family Resort, didn't get that appellation by accident. Everyone works hard to maintain that atmosphere. It's a shame when accolades are given out, if information concerning recommendations is not up to date. Maybe you could file this under, "No good deed goes unpunished".
