1s ORIENTAL MAKKET is vast with many exotic things to buy. The vegatables are so cheap you gasp. My foodie friend came to visit and we decided to go. We happened to dine at Morimotos the night before and were blown away with the flavors. address 1111 6th st and washington ave in Philly. You could spend hours..the freshest bean sprouts you have ever tasted, long sweet beans, lime leaves for flavour. Every chili paste you would ever covet. We went to the fish counter. on the left fish and crabs were swimming in tanks. beautiful fish of all kinds were glistening on ice. We got a little tour from a young chinese boy that spoke english. A guy came buy and ordered lots of skate wings from the ice and a whole giant striped bass they cleaned for him.I said..French chefs serve skate wings. he said I am a chef. He has a restaurant on south street..one with stars. He said he can get better fresher fish or seafood from this asian market or one in Chinatown then he can get from the regular sales fish guy. It is all about turnover of seafood he said. I learned this we americans accept sub standard seafood
