When you travel to Italy and have relatives.
It does not matter how long or bizarre the connection is.
I tell you 2 stories of family and food.
Maybe 7 years ago I traveled to Italy with my mother, stepfather, step brother and his wife.
It did not matter that I was the true relative. they did not care.
They embraced us. one story.
It was Gino a former architect and his wife Lucia. They lived great house on a hill looking over the Adriatic. Their land was filled with fruit trees. The house was big for all.
They organized a big dinner on the patio.
Simple food good. (my stepbrother hated the liver soup)
I want to talk about the garage by the patio amazing.
Inside they had jars of everything to preserve.
fruits, vegatables and olives.
Layer i learned they had an olive grove.
I went there later.
2nd story.. a house simple in to do with olives.
I want to go back with Bourdain for the harvest.
Just a fantasy..but gino the one who knows is building a cool small house in the middle
