Going for a weekend getaway to SF in March. Can anyone suggest great places to eat? I would love to know a great place for Dim Sum and the best place for seafood. Any good suggestions where the best chefs are, ect is all greatly appreciated!

My faves in San Fran are:

Joy Hing BBQ Noodle House on Stockton, between Washington & Clay,
Floating Sushi Boat Restaurant at the corner of Sacramento & Grant,
Pier 23 on the Embarcadero, between Front & Battery,
O'Reilly's Irish Pub at 622 Green, between Powell & Stockton

If you just wander around Chinatown & North Beach, you can find many good ones on your own.

For Dim Sum, I would recommend Yank Sing over in the Rincon Center. Other restaurants that are amazing, are Yuet Lee at Stockton and Broadway, Foreign Cinema, on Mission St., and "The Fifth Floor" restaurant in the Palomar Hotel. If you get over to east bay, theres chez panisse, also hit up downtown oakland. They have an amazing chinatown.

For seafood, try Aqua. Though their corn and crab chowder was salty when I went there last, the rest of the meal was very well prepared. For casual seafood experience, try Hog Island Oyster Co. at the Ferry Building (Embarcadero & Market). The oysters are fresh and tasty. For Dim Sum, if you are willing to take BART across the Bay to Oakland, go to Legendary Palace in Oakland (off at the Oakland City Center station/12th station) and walk to 7th and Franklin. The Chinatown in Oakland is more authentic and less crammed with tchotchke/tourist shops. Whatever you do, AVOID FISHERMAN"S WHARF & PIER 39!!! Tourist traps that overcharge and mediocre food.

Hog Island is good, but if you can make it out to the Ferry building earlier in the morning, the Farmers Market is great. I would suggest grabbing some cheese from Cow Girl's creamery, some fresh oysters and some other foods and hit Chrissy Field and eat on the beach. They also have a Lox and Cream Cheese with onions and lavender salt open face sandwich which is really good.
