Going to Borneo in March. Anyone have any tips, or suggestions?

Yes. Borneo is wonderful! A nature-lover's paradise. I have only been to Kota Kinabalu, but here are some thoughts on that area.
To do:
* Climb Mount Kinabalu (overnight trip)
* Visit the Orangutan reserve
(If you don't want to travel all the way out there, the Shangri-La Rasa Ria has a small one)
* Hiking to any of the waterfalls
* Offroading trips in the forest and to villages
* Visit the old headhunter's village
* Boat trip to a sea gypsy village
* The spas are great and much more reasonably priced than in the West. Try a Balinese or Javanese massage.
And much more.

You will need:
*to get vaccinated, especially if you'll be out hiking and camping (and possibly will need malaria pills to bring along)
*a large umbrella
*plenty of insect repellant
*huge quantity of sunscreen

I found Borneo similar to Bali, but without all the tourists. If you are traveling with your family, both Shangri-La resorts are a very good value and outstanding properties. You can arrange many tours onsite at those hotels from reputable companies. Safety is important on many tours.
