A year ago, I got married to a girl from Hubei Province in China. Specifically she is from a small village called Shiqiao about an hour outside of the small city of Xianfan. There are probably not 500 people in this village and before me, they had never seen an American before. They were some of the friendliest most wonderful people I have ever met. My first day in Shiqiao, my wife took me to this little sidewalk cafe that served noodles for breakfast. Their particular specialty was a noodle dish called Re Gan Mian in which the noodles are topped with a sauce made from sesame paste, a little soy, and a little vinegar. They were fantastic! When I went to pay for the noodles he refused saying, "For Americans... free!"

If Tony every does another China show, I HIGHLY recommend hitting up Hubei province, specifically the cities of Wuhan, Xiangfan, and the village of Shiqiao. I think he said it best in his Malaysia show when he said that he doesn't belong in Malaysia but he also doesnt belong in New York anymore. I feel the very same way. I may not exactly belong in China, but I definitely don't feel like I belong in the US anymore.
