My understanding is that Osaka is the culinary capital of Japan. Kobe beef prepared in Osaka is not to be believed! Everything from food sold by street vendors---to dishes prepared so artfully that I was almost afraid to destroy the design by eating---was the most tasteful, beautifully prepared and served anywhere I have ever traveled. Food borders on the mystical in Japan!
