This summer my husband and I are staying in Yountville on a Tuesday and Wednesday in June. Does anyone have any tips on getting reservations at the FL? I know you can apply only two months prior.

pray? You need to find Tika. She and her husband were there in January. She can tell you about it, or even look at the threads she started in this forum. Here is the post detailing the ordeal she went through to get the reservation.

Hi bella!
Hi Mab!

You have to call them 2 months to the exact date you want to eat there. If they have nothing open (and they don't the first time you call) they will put you on a waiting list (in case somebody else cancels).

Your best option is to call several days in a row and put yourself on the waiting list for multiple days. Hopefully you'll get lucky and somebody else will cancel during that time.

Key word here is persistence.

Heck, if you want to wait until mid-July for your trip, you'll be able to run into me & hubby at Bouchon!!

And make sure you eat lightly several days before you eat there! The plates are deceptively small but enormously filling!

Good luck and make sure you make an appeal to the food gods for their good favor! On the night of the next full moon, take a copy of the food bible (Escoffier's "Le Guide Culinaire"), some heavy cream, and a stick of butter, and say the following prayer:

"Oh, Auguste Escoffier (God's Chef), speak now to thy son - Thomas Keller, and all his Keller-clones in this thy son's 3 star Michelin rated restaurant of the town called Yountville, and bless us with thy favor and drainage of our bank account at this thy bless-ed food temple." Then locate some veal-duck demi-glace, whip up a quick sauce, and drink it down to the dregs.

Tik your too funny. Big Grin BTW, got my new knives, ( didn't go with Global.) and I really like them! Will have to tell you about them. So you guys decided to go back for more? Have fun!
Good luck Bella, hope you are successful.

Ok, I have the prayer to the food gods. I'll try that along with using auto-redial and someone else suggested going for the community table. And, yes my husband and I have read all of the Tika FL postings and can't wait!
