WOW!! I don't think I can wait for Tony and crew to go to Greece (see message board for suggestions on where Tony should go). Too much going on for me right now with schedule but I think I can pull off some time in the next year or two...the pic's are great! Perhaps we should just get ourselves and collective friends organized to fly on over and check it out ourselves!! Yeh, too much fun awaiting in the wings for us to simply tap in to!!

I'm planning on going summer '08 or '09. It's the one place in life I most want to go, so I'm being patient until I can do it right, staying at least a month, with possibly a side trip or two to Paris and Italy

Franca_a, you are such a sweetheart for posting that link. I cannot believe how the link paralleled my post in the "Where Anthony should go" forum (date 06/12/06). quote: Greece came into mind after a reminiscent reunion with some old friends...we used to hook up at a traditional Greek Restaurant after hashing out a day of craziness in our respective offices. It was such a great way to unwind! - we drank alot, ate well, danced on tables, and yes, we even slung plates! My Mission Statement back then? - Is it possible to have too much fun? Conclusion:OH YA! The restaurateur, an absolute sweetheart, hosted many private parties after hours - Kodak moments! But I digress, he gave us a taste of Greece as he would enchant us with stories of his homeland...I would like to explore Greece vicariously through NR - for now at least! Why should NR shoot an episode in Greece? It simply has the appeal to hit all the current demographics of the show but with every possibility to hook new viewers interested in mythology, arts, history, architecture, and the amazing contributions made in science - appeals to all age groups regardless of gender and status. Greece has all this, as well as outstretched beaches kissed by some of the bluest water; the amazing landscapes scattered with ruins; the nightlife, culture, balance of modern and traditional, and of course, delectable food! Tony can get his 'pork fixation' known as Kontosouvli, huge pieces of pork cooked on a spit while washing it down with Retsina. Our Greek friend described the Astako (lobster) as being so enormous, it would spill over the platter. Overall, the seafood is supposed to be incredible but they do offer lamb, poultry, beef, etc. There is a dish called Kokoretsi, lamb entrails wrapped and cooked over a spit that should satisfy the fear factor and odd-curiousity seekers. There is also a vast variety of dishes that would appeal to the vegan demographic such as Revithiakeftedes, Spanokapita, Mousaka, Briam to name a few. We were told the Tavernas - located everywhere, encourage you to walk into their kitchens to see what's cooking - you order what appeals to you! Exploring should be easy enough as the majority of the population speak English. On a final note: I certainly don't expect Tony 'Lord of the Dance' Bourdain to join in Syrtaki (Zorba style!) as we all know how much he HATES dancing, but I bet Diane, Tracey, Chris, Todd, and Jerry could be convinced after swilling down some Ouzo! Now, I'm not a betting woman (usually?), but with such a Win-Win Scenario, I'd bet that Tony and his crew can prove that "one can have too much fun!" Remembering it? - that's a whole other issue. Opa!
I have decided that I will not wait for the NR crew to check it out so I plan on the adventure in a year or two when I have more time to devote to "having too much fun." OPA!!! BTW, Plate smashing is fun! (If you don't believe me - ask Todd )
